Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji has been included in the FTSE4Good Emerging Markets Index, one of the international sustainability indices, based on its performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG) areas. Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji has been included in the FTSE4Good Emerging Markets Index, an international sustainability index that measures performance in environmental, social and governance (ESG) areas. The decision, made following an independent assessment by FTSE Russell, demonstrates that the company's sustainability practices are recognized on an international scale.

Operating with a total installed capacity of 887 MW based entirely on domestic and renewable energy sources, Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji qualified for inclusion in the FTSE4Good Emerging Markets Index as part of FTSE Russell's periodic index review for June 2026.

The assessment process, based on companies' public reporting and disclosures, evaluated environmental, social and governance performance according to independent criteria. During the same period, E.ON, Magna International, Aéroports de Paris, Singapore Airlines, SK Telecom and Corning were also included in the FTSE4Good Index Series.

"We place sustainability at the center of all our activities"
Mustafa Kemal Güngör, General Director of Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji, stated in his assessment regarding the company's inclusion in the index that renewable energy investments are not approached solely from an electricity generation perspective.

Güngör noted that in line with sustainable development principles, the company conducts work not only in managing environmental impacts but also in occupational health and safety, human rights, transparency and accountability. He said that the company's inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index demonstrates that this approach resonates at the international level. Güngör emphasized that the company will continue to create long-term value for stakeholders and improve ESG performance.

887 MW renewable energy portfolio
Founded in 2007 and listed on Borsa İstanbul in March 2023, Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji operates with a production portfolio composed entirely of renewable sources.

Of the company's total 887 MW installed capacity, approximately 537 MW consists of wind and hybrid solar power plants, 229 MW of hydroelectric power plants, and 121 MW of solar power plants. The plant portfolio, distributed across different regions of Turkey, contributes to offsetting the impact of hydrological and meteorological variables on production.

In 2025, the company completed 102.2 MW of wind energy capacity expansion and 85.3 MW of hybrid solar energy investments. Storage-based wind and solar energy projects with 310 MW capacity currently undergoing licensing and permitting processes, along with planned storage-based solar energy investments in Romania, are among the key priorities of the company's growth strategy.

Active role in carbon markets
Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji is among the companies that have come to the fore in carbon markets through carbon credit sales conducted in recent years. The company continues to contribute to practices in this field in Turkey through high-volume carbon credit transactions.
