Akfen and TİKAV's Long-Term Support for Equal Opportunity in Education

Türkiye İnsan Kaynakları Eğitim ve Sağlık Vakfı (TİKAV), founded by Akfen Holding and positioning equal opportunity in education among its core priorities, continues to provide scholarship support through its El Ele Project to university students affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, a commitment it has maintained since the first year following the disaster.

The Turkey Human Resources Education and Health Foundation (TİKAV), founded by Akfen Holding and prioritising equal opportunity in education, continues to provide scholarship support through its Hand in Hand Project to university students affected by the earthquakes centred in Kahramanmaraş since the first year of the disasters.

Under the "Akfen – TİKAV Scholarship Programme", the foundation will continue to provide scholarship support throughout the 2026 academic year to 507 university students affected by the earthquakes.

Under the coordination of the Turkey Human Resources Education and Health Foundation (TİKAV), founded by Akfen Holding, the "Hand in Hand Project" continues to provide scholarship support to university students affected by the earthquakes in the third year following the Kahramanmaraş-centred disasters.

Following the earthquakes that occurred in 2023, the scholarship programme launched for students affected by the earthquakes and in need of continuous education is being implemented within the framework of a long-term approach aimed at supporting students throughout their university education, rather than as a temporary support model.

Akfen Holding announced that it will continue its support for university students affected by the earthquakes throughout 2026 under the scholarship programmes implemented under the coordination of TİKAV. Within this scope, 507 earthquake-affected university students will receive scholarship support throughout the academic year under the Akfen-TİKAV Scholarship Programme.

Under the support provided under the "Akfen – TİKAV Scholarship Programme", monthly scholarship payments are made to university students throughout the academic calendar each year. The scope of the programme is expanded in its third year, enabling more students to continue their education without interruption.

Akfen Holding did not limit its post-earthquake activities to scholarship programmes alone. Under the "Hand in Hand Together" approach implemented under the TİKAV umbrella, multi-faceted projects were launched in the fields of education, accommodation and psychosocial support.

Within this scope, while long-term scholarship support is provided to university students affected by the earthquakes, new support programmes have been implemented for secondary school students and their families who came from the earthquake region to Ankara to continue their education. Through programmes developed for students and parents continuing their studies at Ülkü Akın Secondary School in Ankara, the aim was to support the post-earthquake adjustment process, reduce the effects of trauma and strengthen reintegration into social life. Work enriched with social, cultural, artistic and physical activities contributed to the personal and social development of students while supporting the socialisation process of parents.
