Permolit Boya, a brand of Akçalı Boya A.Ş., one of the paint industry's long-established companies, is collaborating with the Ministry of National Education on a certification program for the paint sector.

Permolit Boya, a brand of Akçalı Boya A.Ş., one of the established firms in the paints sector, is collaborating with the Ministry of National Education to develop a certificate program for the paints industry. The certificate program, which covers occupational safety, paint application and trade expertise, targets professional and semi-professional workers without formal training backgrounds as well as anyone wishing to work in these fields. New legal regulations now require painters to hold a certificate. Participation in this certificate program, organized in partnership between Akçalı Boya A.Ş. and the Ministry of National Education, will be free of charge.

Starting in October

The program will begin in October and will be conducted theoretically and practically at Zincirlikuyu Vocational High School workshops. Uniforms and materials used in the training will be provided by Permolit Boya. Training sessions will be scheduled for different days and times during weekdays and weekends, providing participants with time flexibility. Participants will complete the training in 2 or 4 weeks depending on their chosen program and will receive Ministry of National Education-approved certificates.

Training Topics

The program will offer a 24-hour course titled "Complying with Worker Health Legislation and Taking Occupational Safety Measures" and 16-hour "Painting Work" training. Anyone wishing to obtain a certificate can participate in the total 40-hour training program. Painters who obtain certificates will not only fulfill a legal requirement but will also expand their job opportunities in the sector. Moreover, through the occupational safety training provided, they will be able to conduct their professional lives more safely and away from risks. Application forms are being published on Akçalı Boya A.Ş.'s website. It is also possible to apply by obtaining and completing forms from Permolit Boya sales points. Regarding this corporate social responsibility initiative to be conducted together with the Ministry of National Education, Akçalı Boya A.Ş. Chief Executive Officer Akın Akçalı made the following assessment: "Unfortunately, in almost every sector in Turkey, there are untrained, self-taught masters. Many of them are seen to be inadequate in both professional applications and occupational safety matters. Painting is one of these professions. We want correct applications to be carried out in accordance with new laws by painters equipped with necessary skills and under occupational safety conditions. We have made it our mission to bring professional, educated individuals who wish to have a profession to our sector and our country. This is only the beginning. We will continue our activities that strengthen social capital both sectorially and societally."
