Adana Sets Export Record

Export Record from Adana In June 2022, exports reached USD 286,424,000, up 35.8% from the same period the previous year and marking the highest monthly export figure in the city's history. For the January-June 2022 period, exports reached USD 1,516,061,000, up 36.4% compared to the same period the previous year, breaking records. Turkish Exporters Assembly data for June 2022 was evaluated by Adana Chamber of Industry Board Chairman Zeki Kıvanç, who stated: "Adana renewed its monthly export records from 2021 in 2022, achieving its highest monthly export figure of USD 286,424,000 in June 2022. In the first 6 months of 2021, Adana had realized USD 1,111,511,000 in exports. Looking at the first 6 months of 2022, Adana has achieved USD 1,516,061,000 in exports with a 36.4% increase. As Adana, we have captured upward momentum."

Exports to top 20 countries rise 42.5%

Noting that Adana's total exports to the top 20 countries in the January-June 2022 period amounted to USD 1,072,519,000, Kıvanç added: "In the January-June 2022 period, our export growth rate to the top 20 countries was 42.5%. In the first 6 months of 2022, the country to which we exported the most was Iraq with USD 147,275,000. This was followed by Germany with USD 137,021,000 and Spain with USD 109,077,000. In 2022, the country with the highest export growth among the top 20 countries compared to the same period the previous year was Egypt with a 191.2% increase and USD 32,145,000 in export value. Adana exported to 162 countries in the first 6 months of 2022." Noting that Chemical Products and Derivatives ranked first in Adana's sectoral exports in the January-June 2022 period with a 23.4% share, Kıvanç said this sector was followed by Textiles and Raw Materials with a 21.8% share, and Cereals, Legumes, Oilseeds and their Products with a 10.9% share.

Target of 3.5 billion dollars

Emphasizing that Adana's year-end export target is USD 3.5 billion, Chairman Kıvanç concluded his remarks as follows: "As Adana, we are making efforts to increase our share of Turkey's exports every day. We will take these export figures to higher levels along with new investment areas in our city. With the completion of ongoing projects in addition to existing potential, Adana will be among the provinces that contribute the most to our country's industrial production and export targets. The fact that our export figures are continuously capturing upward momentum is the greatest indicator of this."
