The PLAT 5. Private Label Summit was held at the Kurtköy Crowne Plaza Hotel. The summit, attended by representatives of manufacturers and suppliers as well as national and local retail chains, continued to take the pulse of the sector with its lineup of prominent speakers this year. The PLAT 5. Private Label Summit was organized under the theme "Exit Routes to Sustainability" to demonstrate how the sector is preparing for the future as consumer interest in private label products continues to grow day by day. M. İmer Özer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PLAT Association: "With private label products continuously strengthening their position in the retail sector, we brought our industry together for the fifth time this year. This year, we determined the theme of our summit as exit routes to sustainability. We say not everyone who seeks will find what they are looking for, but those who find it are the seekers. In today's changing conditions, we cannot speak of sustainable growth through competition focused solely on price. For this, we must first be resilient and agile, and these qualities are in our genes. We should think globally and be able to act locally without forgetting Turkey's conditions. Second, we must focus. Focusing on a specific area brings success. Let us use our creativity for innovation and focus on the problem rather than on competitors. As a third exit route, we must keep things simple. We should break away from routine and differentiate ourselves because the consumer buys what they perceive as different. Fourth, we must not forget to show empathy. Where there is hope, there is always an exit route. What matters is that we remain seekers and move beyond routine to deliver exceptional work. This is how we can achieve differentiation and sustainable growth." he said.

Özer continued his remarks as follows:

"In Europe, private label products account for an average of 31.5% of retail turnover, while in our country, with the increases in recent years, this ratio has risen above 20%. Compared to Europe, our private label products sector is experiencing rapid growth. Making significant progress in reaching consumers, private label products now occupy more shelf space in supermarkets and shopping carts. The private label products sector, which increased its turnover to TRY 50 billion with approximately 70% growth last year, achieved 29% growth in the nine-month period of this year. With increasing consumer confidence in the quality of private label products, we expect the growth trend in private label products, which has risen to the top of consumers' purchasing preferences, to continue for the remainder of the year." he said.
