4th Process Safety Symposium and Exhibition Draws Strong Interest

The 4th Process Safety Symposium and Exhibition, organized under the coordination of Kocaeli Chamber of Industry and the organization of Chem Media-Artkim Group, has begun at Kocaeli Convention Center. The event, which attracted significant interest and was organized under the theme "How Prepared Is Industry for Earthquakes, Other Natural Disasters, and Major Industrial Accident Risks?", addressed Process Safety in all its dimensions through presentations and conferences delivered by sector experts and academicians.

  The event opened with opening speeches following a special video prepared for the 100th Anniversary of our Republic. In his speech, Hasan Şerefhan, Chairman of the Process Safety Symposium Executive Board, stressed the importance of digitalization in process safety. Şerefhan noted that improved process safety through the use of Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, Big Data Analytics, Wearable Devices, and Artificial Intelligence will be effective in reducing risks to the minimum level. In his presentation, Barış examined the subject of Disaster and Emergency Planning in Industry, providing information with examples on the measures that should be taken. Reminding that our country is located in an earthquake belt, Barış drew attention to the risks posed by items and objects within structures that may overturn, fall, or break off in case of an earthquake. Prof. Dr. Şerif Barış also noted that the supply chain should be included in Disaster and Emergency Plans due to disruptions that occur during major disasters. Intensive Symposium Program The first day of the symposium program continued with a first session containing presentations by leading figures from the sector. Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Türker Özkan, Member of the Executive Board of TİSK Microsurgery Foundation, provided information in his special presentation about the scale of operations carried out in our country. In the panel moderated by Hasan Şerefhan, Chairman of the Process Safety Symposium Executive Board, the topic "Process Safety Best Practices in Industry and the Effects of Digitalization" was addressed from all angles.   Expert Names to Evaluate Necessary Measures on the Second Day of the Event On the second day of the event, Yoshinori Moriwaki, General Manager of Hazama Ando Corporation Turkey Office, Member of Turkey's National Risk Shield Model Working Groups, Turkey General Secretary of the Japan Overseas Construction Companies Association, will address the differences between Japan and Turkey regarding disaster prevention. Nasuh Mahruki, Chairman of AKUT Foundation and one of the most authoritative figures in our country on earthquake matters, will share his thoughts on how Turkey can prepare for earthquakes. On the second day, the symposium will host a panel titled "How Prepared Is Industry for Natural Disasters and Industrial Accident Risks?
