Assoc. Prof. Tamer Önder Wins 2019 Sabri Ülker Science Award
The Sabri Ülker Foundation, which implements numerous sustainable projects aimed at enlightening society and raising awareness about healthy living and nutrition based on scientific knowledge, has announced the results of this year's "Sabri Ülker Science Award" competition.
A jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Gökhan Hotamışlıgil awarded the Sabri Ülker Science Award, which the Foundation organizes to encourage young scientists in academia, industry and research institutes and to support the presentation of research findings for the benefit of society, to Doç. Dr. Tamer Önder, faculty member at the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, Medical Biology and Genetics at Koç University School of Medicine.
Doç. Dr. Önder's research has been cited over 5,000 times by scientists and includes numerous articles and patents published in prestigious scientific journals such as PNAS, Cell and Nature on cancer and stem cells.
Doç. Dr. Önder, who is also a recipient of the Turkish Academy of Sciences Outstanding Young Scientist Award (TÜBA-GEBİP) and the Turkey Health Institutes Presidency (TÜSEB) Aziz Sancar Encouragement Award, has been continuing his work at Koç University School of Medicine since 2012.
