Vestel Received Two Awards from Europe and Turkey

Vestel received an award in the "Process" category at the European Business Awards for the Environment, where it represented Turkey for the second time with its "waste paint recovery and reuse system" designed in line with its Smart Life 2030 sustainability vision. The company also received a technology award in the "Large Scale Company Process" category at the 13th Technology Awards with the same project. The European Business Awards for the Environment recognizes companies, regardless of their size and sector, that develop projects to improve their environmental performance and contribute to sustainable economic development, and that have achieved the highest number of successes related to their goals. Vestel became the first company from Turkey to receive an award with its "Waste Paint Recovery and Reuse System" in the "Process" category. Vestel Electronic Production Manager Ömer Gökçe Kuyucu received the award on behalf of Vestel at the European Business Awards for the Environment ceremony in Vienna.

The Technology Awards, the second award received by Vestel, are presented to solutions that are creative, innovative, technically excellent and competitive as a result of the synergy created by TÜBİTAK, the Technology Development Foundation of Turkey (TTGV) and TÜSİAD.

Vestel received an award in this organization once again with its "Waste Paint Recovery and Reuse System". Zorlu Holding Board Member Emre Zorlu received the award on behalf of Vestel from Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank at the award ceremony held in Istanbul. Speaking about the awards, Zorlu Holding Board Member Emre Zorlu said, "As a group aware of its responsibility to future generations, we are working with the dream of a more livable world and a better future. We focus on increasing the value we add to social and economic life through the use of technology with an innovative perspective in all our business processes and minimizing our impact on the environment. We position this insight, which we define as Smart Life 2030, as the vision of our company for the future. Our Waste Paint Recovery and Reuse project, which received an award, is a project that combines technology, efficiency and sustainability. I believe the awards received by the project both in Europe and Turkey are proof that we accurately reflect our sustainability vision in our production processes, and I would like to congratulate all my colleagues who contributed to the project.

What is the Waste Paint Recovery and Reuse System?

In industrial wet paint application systems with an average paint efficiency of 50 percent, the remaining 50 percent is filtered and collected as waste. With the "Waste Paint Recovery and Reuse System" developed by Vestel, waste paint particles used in operations are recovered and prepared for reuse. Vestel designed all the chemical formulation and machinery in this system.
