Solution for Skin Defects Are Barium Sulphate B-MM and E+ 508
BARIUM SULPHATE B-MM AND E+508 SOLVE SKIN DEFECTS
As HD International Trade, we supply numerous raw materials to conceal the soft-focus effect and skin imperfections in cosmetics. Barium Sulfate B-MM and E+508 originate from South Korea and are raw materials produced by Easthill and ABC Nanotech, of which we are the sole authorized distributors. We offer this in two different textures according to our customers' requirements; 1. The soft-focus effect can conceal skin blemishes and imperfections while preserving natural skin tone. 2. All defects can be covered through intensive application. Barium Sulfate B-MM is one of the best solutions for natural sealers. Barium Sulfate B-MM is a powder obtained by surface treatment with magnesium myristate on smooth pure white barium sulfate. Barium sulphate can preserve the appearance of natural skin and cover skin blemishes, but its kinetic friction coefficient (COF) is high. Magnesium myristate, on the other hand, has a smooth structure and is highly compatible with skin. When barium sulfate is treated with magnesium myristate, the friction force of the molecule decreases and a velvety tissue feel is achieved. It also possesses hydrophobic properties while being hydrophilic. The refractive index of synthetic mica, titanium dioxide and human skin are 1.56, 2.76 and 1.60 respectively. Titanium dioxide, which has a higher refractive index than skin, obscures skin imperfections and the natural skin tone disappears. For barium sulphate, however, the refractive index is 1.64 and may slightly cover skin imperfections while preserving natural skin tone. At the same time, Barium Sulfate B-MM has a smooth, soft and velvety texture. It is compatible with skin and adheres well to the skin. Therefore, it provides long-lasting makeup and does not change colour when combined with sebum. It also provides good resistance in drop testing.Soft Focus Effect of Barium Sulfate
Figure 1.To demonstrate the soft focus effect, we prepared 90μm lacquer films with a dilution ratio of 9:1 using the 4-shade applicator. Titanium dioxide is too opaque to create a natural look, and synthetic mica is too transparent to cover blemishes. However, barium sulfate can provide natural skin tone coverage through its soft focus effect.Kinetic Friction Test
Figure 2.The coefficient of kinetic friction was greatly reduced when barium sulfate is treated with magnesium myristate. Barium Sulfate B-MM provides a much smoother and softer feel on the skin's surface. Figure 3. It demonstrated that Barium Sulfate B-MM possesses hydrophobic properties while barium sulfate is hydrophilic. ** Drop Test Figure 4.To assess the stability of pressed powder, a drop test was conducted. 10 g of sample was placed in a mold and pressed at 80 MPa for 5 seconds. The molded compound was then dropped from a height of 70 cm until it broke. Compared with mica, barium sulfate and Barium Sulfate B-MM showed greater stability in the drop test. Figure 5. The sample using mica broke after 3 drops. However, samples using barium sulfate or Barium Sulfate B-MM remained stable after 3 drops. Figure 6.It was confirmed that when exposed to sebum, barium sulfate and Barium Sulfate B-MM maintain their whiteness, but mica and sericite become dull and dark. For the test method, 1.8 g of sample was mixed with 0.9 g of artificial sebum and visually assessed for colour change. Artificial sebum was prepared using caprylic/capric triglyceride, isostearic acid and squalene in a ratio of 59:24:17. We present E+508, which is part of the PMSQ series from ABC Nanotech, one of our South Korean suppliers, in the high and intensive coverage category. E+508 is a non-porous type of Polymethylsilsesquioxane, 0.8μm, designed for high coverage. All PMSQ series products in the special series are presented by HD, ranging from 0.8 to 10μm (E+540, E+520, E+710, etc.). As particle size decreases, the concealing effect increases; E+508 is an unrivalled raw material for intensive coverage. It provides excellent opacity to cover skin defects (spots, scars and wrinkles). It has significantly better texture than pigment-grade titanium dioxide. It offers high thermal resistance and is chemically stable. Figure 9: Skin Coverage Performance ComparisonAdvertisement
