Sika Expands Concrete Admixtures Production Capacity in the USA Sika is opening a new concrete admixtures manufacturing facility in Stafford, Virginia. Sika is increasing production capacity in the key American construction market by establishing the plant near Washington, D.C., to meet strong demand in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Northeast with over 75 million inhabitants includes densely populated urban centers such as New York, Philadelphia, and Boston, which account for more than 25% of US economic output. The new facility is well positioned to serve the additional infrastructure requirements of the announced CHF 200-250 billion infrastructure program in the two aforementioned regions. Sika has benefited from robust demand in the construction sector in recent years. The new Stafford plant is the second-largest manufacturer of Sika concrete admixtures in the United States. Together with the existing facility in Fairless Hills, Philadelphia, it enables the company to better serve customers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Additionally, shorter transportation routes for raw materials and finished products will enhance operational efficiency while reducing CO2 emissions. Christoph Ganz, Sika Regional Manager Americas: "This investment allows us to significantly expand our production capacity while creating optimal conditions for sustained growth in the North American market. Our concrete admixtures meet the construction sector's most demanding requirements and enable the production of higher-performance, resource-efficient concrete. Sika admixtures facilitate the execution of critical infrastructure projects, are employed in state-of-the-art high-rise construction, and contribute to increased sustainability in megacities."

Infrastructure programs drive construction industry growth

Over the coming years, more than CHF 1.0 trillion will be invested in infrastructure modernization and expansion in North America alone. A significant portion will flow into the construction industry, which is projected to grow at an annual rate of 3.8 percent through 2025. The main growth drivers are investments in transportation, energy, and utility infrastructure, which are expected to increase by 8% to 10%.   Note: Content may be edited for style and length.   Source
