Saint-Gobain Acquires Two Companies in Asia-Pacific Region

Saint-Gobain strengthened its Asia-Pacific business with acquisitions in Vietnam and Japan.

Saint-Gobain strengthened its Asia-Pacific business with acquisitions in Vietnam and Japan.

Saint-Gobain announced two acquisitions in the Asia-Pacific Region – where the Group delivered 9.0% sales growth in local currencies in the first quarter of 2026 – reinforcing its positioning on high-growth, value-creating businesses in the region.

In Vietnam, Saint-Gobain has completed the acquisition of Phu My Innovative Materials (PMIM), one of the country's largest and most advanced plasterboard facilities, generating revenues of around €20 million in 2025 with a strong growth potential. Supported by a strong network of 3,200 retailers and 15,000 installers (x2 since 2022), Saint-Gobain holds leading positions in Vietnam in gypsum, light steel framing, cement board and construction chemicals. With 12 plants in the country, the Group offers integrated solutions for residential, non-residential and infrastructure markets, generating revenues of more than €200 million in 2025, 2.5 times the level ten years ago. The acquisition strengthens Saint-Gobain's presence in Vietnam and enhances its ability to serve the growing demand for lightweight, efficient and sustainable building solutions across the country.

In Japan, Saint-Gobain has entered into a share transfer agreement to acquire AGC's majority stake in AGC Polymer Materials, a leading provider of polyurethane waterproofing and flooring solutions with sales of around €50 million in 2025. The transaction will reinforce Saint-Gobain's construction chemicals platform in Japan with GCP and expand its exposure in the country where it generated revenues of more than €300 million in 2025. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.

These acquisitions are fully aligned with Saint-Gobain's "Lead & Grow" strategic plan, which aims to strengthen the Group's leadership in high-growth regions such as Asia-Pacific.
