Polisan Kansai Boya's Rubia Tinctorum: The Paint That Decorates Canvases

Polisan Kansai Boya continues to produce brand new colors with its research and development activities. Some of which are not known much, but by using them in artistic activities these colors contribute transferring the inspirations to the canvases. One of these colors is from Artist Meral Yıldız, Rubia Tinctorum red, which is known as Sticky Grass that grows in the Kaz Mountains.

From Nature to Canvas with Polisan R&D

Meral Yıldız's path crossed with Polisan Kansai Boya Basic Research Laboratory, thanks to Necmettin Bitlis, founder of Polisan Holding, who passed away two years ago. As a result of these works, Rubia Tinctorum became a paint that can be used on canvases. Inspired by Renaissance painters, Yıldız's paintings created with Rubia Tinctorum were exhibited at Gama Gallery within the scope of IKSV Istanbul Biennial, where Polisan Kansai Boya has been the official paint sponsor for 10 years.
