Let Sözer Makina Have Your Back for Sustainable Development
In this century, as we move beyond the past decade, a new economic order is emerging, particularly in developed countries and globally, especially in the services sector. Globalization has increasingly integrated national economies with the outside world.
When examining the production dimension, elements that create differentiation and value (design, creativity, technology that enhances end-user comfort and safety, brand value, image value, etc.) have taken precedence over mere production in developed countries. Against this backdrop, the concept of engineering has shifted fundamentally. In this new century, engineers have increasingly focused on aspects beyond the production department (R&D, technology, creativity, design, etc.).
Technological and industrial developments naturally intensify demands on basic resources such as energy and raw materials, making their efficient use increasingly critical. As working conditions and requirements evolve continuously, engineers and manufacturers face expanding responsibilities.
Observing successful engineers and business leaders in production systems reveals that those managing scarce resources, proposing alternative production policies and providing interdisciplinary coordination in projects are gaining prominence. In this context, companies with engineering infrastructure built on examining, planning, organizing, executing, supervising and developing systems in industrial and service sectors—and on preventing and solving problems through systems, models and methods—are the ones achieving success or poised to do so. The competitive environment of this era naturally drives further technological advancement. Manufacturing has entered a new phase and global markets have emerged. Consequently, manufacturing organizations have had to undertake radical structural changes to survive and compete.
Paints and coatings, specialty chemicals (construction chemicals, adhesives, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, etc.), which have shown significant growth both nationally and globally, necessitate corresponding advances in the machinery and equipment used to produce them. As Sözer, we are not merely a machine supplier; with 74 years of experience and knowledge gained through exports to 52 countries, we can develop professional solutions tailored to your needs. We can establish and execute your turnkey projects—fully automated, semi-automated and manual operating systems—drawing on substantial experience. Such projects are completed within our company using advanced technology and high-efficiency engineering.
As industry develops, advancing machine technologies necessitate effective and powerful design mixing machines. Success in quality and timeliness requires the right formulation, the right machinery and the right equipment. This depends directly on how well you control your product and production process. Chemistry can often become complex as a result of reactions that appear simple on the surface but involve combining various components. For instance, caulking compounds—heavy paste types with viscosity of 500,000 centipoise—can be produced on planetary malaksor machines. For products at this viscosity, zet-kneader machines often represent the more effective choice. This exemplifies what we mean by "selecting the appropriate machine."
Our single-shaft mixing systems and planetary malaksor machines have served successfully for years. Our combined mixers with two or three spindle systems and combined planetary malaksor machines have seen serious demand recently. The target customers for our machines are companies producing products in the 5,000-3,000,000 centipoise range. If the substances in these products can only be mixed by dispersion, the machine requires a high-speed mixing propeller.
For effective dispersion, the mixer should achieve 19–25 m/sec. Dispersion propellers must reach this environmental speed. In some cases, high-speed dispersion alone may be insufficient for mixing high or low-viscosity products. Homogeneous blending can be achieved in very short periods using two-pallet systems with separate speed adjustment operating independently of the high-speed system. This mixing device can also integrate with scraper and vacuum systems.
The design and features of vertical mixers must be adapted according to viscosity. When a batch becomes too viscous, a high-speed mixer with a fixed rotation axis cannot produce sufficient flow, resulting in weak product homogeneity. The combined planetary mixer machine differs from other vertical mixers due to two key features. The first and most important is that the two planetary shafts with angled blades rotate on their own axes while orbiting on a common axis.
As the blades advance through the batch, they continuously traverse it regardless of product flow. The second feature is a high-speed shaft required for some formulations. A high-speed shaft with sawtooth impeller is highly effective for powder wet-out and dispersion. In addition to these two shafts, the combined planetary mixer includes a scraper arm that aids the agitation process by moving material from the wall toward the center.
Combined malaksor machines allow you to produce pigment paste, petrochemical products, insulation and filling materials, putty, fillers, sealing products, silicone, mastic, sealing components (etc.) easily and in very short timeframes. Due to dispersion propellers, blade profile and peripheral speed, they generate heat in the material. A PT100 heat meter system is used as a standard feature to prevent deformed product from entering the reaction or to monitor the product temperature curve. Cooling motors are coupled to the main motors as standard, allowing long-term operation at low revolutions. Combined mixers include scraper, vacuum, pressure, PT100 systems and time-based mixing as standard features.
These machines require very powerful motors and equipment; accordingly, machine bodies are manufactured entirely from castings. Starting from laboratory scale, capacities can be produced at 3, 500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 3,500, 5,000 and 10,000 liters. The cast machine body ensures long service life and rigid operation. Beyond machine functions, the operator panel features digital temperature display screens for individual mixing motors, amperage, timer displays and the produced product temperature. Additionally, half or fully automatic recipe control systems and PLC control system features are offered as optional additions to the operator panel.
In mixers, transmission components are particularly critical, especially in machines with numerous mixing systems. Machines must be designed appropriately for their intended purpose. Engineering calculations are essential at this stage. Incorrect designs and miscalculated powertrains can result in incomplete power transmission from motor to mixing equipment. Oversized engines sometimes appear in such machines because some companies attempt to compensate for faulty designs by selecting more powerful motors.
Mixer selection should progress from left to right with increasing viscosities. Selecting the right machine involves more than just the machine type. You must also conduct your benefit/cost analysis correctly.
Especially in recent years, reflecting the importance companies place on innovation, automated systems are in high demand. The goal is to complete production processes in an automation system extending as much as possible from raw material handling through packaging. As Sözer Makina, we can provide fully automatic or semi-automatic system solutions tailored to your requirements from system start to finish. By integrating new-generation powder or liquid raw material feeding systems into our machines, we ensure accurate and appropriate raw material measurement.
After production completion, we transfer the product to silos or filling lines using our fully automatic or semi-automatic systems. Our in-house software team develops software infrastructure that can be programmed according to your recipe structure. This ensures you maintain sustainable and consistent production standards.
Currently in Turkey, we are the most capable firm for producing a wide variety of machinery in our sector; globally today, we rank among the industry's leading companies, with machines operating in 52 different countries. We regard this success as an indicator of our quality in exports. We maintain openness to continuous improvement across all staff. Within our facilities, we provide ongoing training in engineering and production, and offer our staff opportunities to follow developments in their respective fields worldwide.
