Greif and IonKraft have announced a new pilot-project partnership. IonKraft is a barrier technology company specializing in plasma-based coatings. The collaboration aims to revolutionize the challenges of recyclability and sustainability in plastic jerrycan packaging that requires an additional barrier solution. While industrial plastic packaging is generally easy to recycle, challenges arise in specific applications that demand barrier solutions. IonKraft has developed an innovative coating that uses a plasma-enhanced vapor deposition process. The resulting barrier is non-reactive, chemically inert, and 100% recyclable. Beyond recyclability, the IonKraft barrier technology offers a sustainable alternative to fluorination.
