ClearSign Technologies Collaboration Partner Narion Corp. Receives SBIR Grant to Develop Flare Methane Sensor. ClearSign Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: CLIR), a provider of industrial combustion and sensing technologies that enhance energy efficiency, operational effectiveness, and safety while significantly reducing emissions, has announced a significant achievement in collaboration with its partner, Narion. Narion has been granted a USD 250,000 phase one SBIR (small business innovation research) grant from the Department of Energy (DOE) to develop a technology utilizing ClearSign's sensor. This technology will enable Narion to achieve efficient and complete combustion of flared waste gas. Jim Deller, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of ClearSign, expressed enthusiasm about this milestone, as it signifies the application of their sensor technology beyond ClearSign's traditional low emissions burner technology and flame sensing applications. The collaboration with Narion aims to explore diverse opportunities, and this achievement is a testament to the success of their partnership. The technology being developed by Narion, with the use of ClearSign's sensor technology, will play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and carbon emissions from flaring systems, addressing a pressing need in the industry. It will aid the industry in cost-effectively complying with stringent regulatory requirements and contribute to global efforts to combat greenhouse gas emissions. Narion's project, titled "Cost Effective Real-Time Flare Gas Characterization for Optimizing Methane Destruction," will focus on developing a novel combustion characterization sensor. This sensor will provide real-time data to optimize the operational parameters for achieving efficient and complete combustion of flared waste gas. Additionally, the sensor will serve as an enabling technology for waste gas capture systems, assisting in the optimization of selective capturing of high-value waste gas. The collaboration between ClearSign and Narion represents a significant step towards sustainable and environmentally responsible solutions, aligning with the industry's need for innovative technologies to address emissions reduction and optimize waste gas utilization.
