Viatris Publishes Sustainability Report Global pharmaceutical company Viatris Inc. has published its 2021 Sustainability Report, outlining the company's 2021 achievements and progress in key areas including Access and Global Health, Employees, Environmental Management and Community Engagement. The report also contains details on how Viatris continued to support stable pharmaceutical supply during the COVID-19 pandemic while supporting its employees and their families. Through the report, Viatris committed to achieving multi-year targets across three core areas across the organization: access, environment and diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). These include delivering antiretroviral (ARV) treatment to a total of 30 million patients, including more than two million children living with HIV/AIDS, by the end of 2025; providing training to health professionals through the NCD Academy on prevention, diagnosis and treatment options for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer and other major chronic diseases to improve outcomes by the end of 2025, and reaching 100 million patients through social assistance. Viatris commits to reducing scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 42 percent in absolute terms by 2030; reducing scope 3 GHG emissions, which include purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy alternatives, production-related transportation and distribution, by 25 percent by 2030. Viatris also sets targets to support diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) to attract, develop and retain employees with diverse capabilities and support the creation of a more inclusive environment. Some of Viatris's key initiatives, progress and achievements in 2021 in collaboration with its partners are as follows: • Approximately 40 percent of adults receiving HIV treatment and more than 60 percent of children used a Viatris product. • More than 80 billion doses of medicines were delivered to patients in more than 165 countries and regions, with approximately 7.7 billion doses provided to our patients in approximately 90 percent of low and lower and middle-income countries. • A formal program was established to build, disseminate, support representation and generally improve employee experience by starting with understanding the current structure of the workforce and embedding diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) principles throughout the organization. • Signed the UN Global Compact CEO Water Mandate and UN Women's Empowerment Principles. • Donated approximately 500 million doses of medicines across various therapeutic areas through a trusted partner network.
