Ülker Reports First Half Financial Results Ülker Bisküvi closed the first half of 2022 with revenue of TRY 11.9 billion. Turkey operations accounted for 60% of revenue, while exports and international operations accounted for 40%. Ülker Bisküvi announced in a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) that first-half revenue was TRY 11.9 billion. The company's Turkey operations accounted for 60% of revenue, while exports and international operations accounted for 40%. Following growth trends and improved operational profitability, supported by contributions from international operations, the company achieved earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of TRY 2.4 billion in the first half of 2022. Ülker CEO Mete Buyurgan, highlighting that sustainability, R&D and digitalization are top priorities, stated: "We are closely monitoring fluctuations in global markets. With our strong, agile and proactive risk structure, our workforce spread across broad geographies, our effective strategies and successful management, we closed the first half of 2022 with revenue of TRY 11.9 billion." Pointing out that positions in Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia markets have also been strengthened alongside Turkey, Buyurgan continued: "We are market leaders in biscuits in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. We are the third largest in chocolate in Kazakhstan. We are maintaining steady growth in the geographies where we operate. We will further develop our market position and leadership in regional markets by creating added value for our employees, consumers and all stakeholders. On the other hand, we are tracking rapidly changing global trends and presenting our innovative products to the satisfaction of our consumers. Over the past 2 years, we have brought more than 150 new products to shelves in Turkey. We have significantly increased the share of new products in our revenue compared to previous years. Our goal is to always be the leading brand that best understands its consumer and leads market trends," he said.
Exports to more than 100 countries
Ülker products along with global snack brands such as Godiva, McVitie's and Flipz are manufactured in Turkey and shipped worldwide, said Buyurgan, "With production in our facilities in Gebze, Topkapı, Silivri, Karaman and Ankara, we have made Turkey a manufacturing hub for our global brands. We bring our products to consumers with the 'Made in Turkey' label. We export to more than 100 countries," he said.
