An Important Step for Türkiye's Exports: Trakya Teknopark Model Being 'Exported' to the Balkans

Trakya University (TÜ) Vice Rector and Director of the Foreign Relations Implementation and Research Center Prof. Dr. Murat Türkyılmaz announced that by exporting the Trakya Technopark model to the Balkans, Turkey has added a new item to its export portfolio. According to a statement from the university, TÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Türkyılmaz and his delegation visited the Kosovo Ministry of Industry and Trade. During the visit, the TÜ delegation met with a Kosovo delegation consisting of General Director Kreshnik Thaqi, Ministry Advisors Lumturiye Kurtişay, Mert Aşıkferki and Selima Mustafic to discuss the operations, modeling, structural arrangements, and innovation and employment matters related to Kosovo Technopark. Vice Rector Türkyılmaz stated that work has begun on transferring the Trakya Technopark model to Kosovo. Emphasizing that as a university they are working to serve the Balkans in all areas, Türkyılmaz noted that they have added the Technopark model to Turkey's strong export portfolio. Türkyılmaz indicated that Trakya Technopark will provide guidance in the establishment and operations of the technopark to be built in Kosovo, stating: "We are proud to be exporting our technopark model to Kosovo and the Balkans. From technology to textiles, from automotive to heavy industry products, our country's high-value brand products are being exported around the world. As Trakya University, we are also adding a new item to our country's export portfolio by exporting our technopark model to the Balkans. What makes this meaningful is that we are providing this support without any expectation of return. We have no material expectations in return for the contributions we have made to the Balkans, nor will we have any, because we have a passion, a cause.
