Roche Announces Third Quarter 2019 Results

With scientific knowledge accumulation, R&D strength and strategic investments, Roche, one of the biotechnology companies, announced its financial results for the first nine months of 2019. The company's group sales increased by 10% on a constant currency basis compared to the previous year, reaching CHF 46.1 billion. The Pharmaceuticals Division's sales rose by 12% to CHF 36.6 billion, while the Diagnostics Division's sales increased by 4% to CHF 9.5 billion. Roche Group Chief Executive Officer Severin Schwan stated, "We continue to make a difference in patients' lives through the innovative treatments we provide in their service. We are successfully entering new disease areas and offering important new treatment options to benefit more patients living with serious diseases. With strong demand for our new treatments in our pharmaceuticals unit and continued progress in our product portfolio, as well as growth in our diagnostics unit, particularly in the immunodiagnostics area, we have raised our expectations for the end of 2019 and I am confident we will continue to grow beyond this year."
