Kibar Holding Releases 10th Sustainability Report Kibar Holding has published its 10th Sustainability Report. The Group continues its determined efforts under the Kibar Holding 2025 Strategy, which was established approximately three years ago, and implemented numerous productivity projects last year. The amount of raw materials recycled and reused has increased by 49% over the last seven years, while recovered waste has risen to 99.3%. Kibar Holding published its 10th Sustainability Report this year. The report includes 2022 progress on 36 targets tracked through 92 performance indicators under the Group's "2025 Sustainability Strategy". As an export-oriented group, Kibar Holding launched the "Kibar Holding Supplier Sustainability Program", which ensures and monitors critical sustainability priorities for over five thousand active suppliers, with the responsibility of ensuring that its stakeholders adopt sustainability principles. Under the program called K-STAR, the Group's broad ecosystem of over five thousand stakeholders in different regions of the world becomes a business partner in sustainability as well. This paves the way for responsible procurement activities aligned with the Group's sustainability strategy to be managed from a single center.

Two New Standards Added

Haluk Kayabaşı, CEO of Kibar Holding and Chairman of the Sustainability Committee, emphasized that despite global conflicts, trade wars, energy crisis and inflationary pressures persisting in 2022, Kibar Group maintained its growth targets and continued its investments thanks to its ability to adapt and agility in the face of all adversities. Kayabaşı stated: "Our determination to achieve economic growth in full alignment with sustainability principles has a significant impact on this success. We continue all our activities by referring to international standards in this field. We are expanding the scope of accountability as well as maintaining high standards of transparency in corporate sustainability." He noted that the report includes progress made under the Women's Empowerment Principles over the past two years, and said that this year they added two new standards to the ones they track. Noting that these standards are the 'World Economic Forum Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics' and the 'Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures', Kayabaşı said: "As in the past year, this year we ensured that information about our activities underwent independent audit verification." The Holding received assurance statements under the International Assurance Audit Standard and Greenhouse Gas Statement Assurance Audits for over 80 environmental, social and governance performance indicators included in the 2022 Sustainability Report. Through its investments in renewable energy sources, the Holding has neutralized emissions from electricity consumption of Assan Aluminium, an energy-intensive company, since 2021. In just the last three years, nearly 30 new projects have been implemented to contribute to combating climate change and the circular economy. Through the Wastewater Recovery Facility investment at Asım Kibar Organized Industrial Zone, approximately 500,000 cubic meters of water were recovered this year. The amount of raw materials recycled and reused has increased by 49% over the last seven years, while recovered waste has risen to 99.3%. Within the framework of Kibar Holding's biodiversity protection strategy, following the endangered 'Blue Star' plant through cooperation between Assan Aluminium and Kocaeli University, the 'Sand Lily' plant, which is also at risk of extinction, was restored to the ecosystem. Through the 'Kibar Group Sustainability Platform', information and awareness-raising activities were conducted for employees regarding the fight against climate change. With the "Work is Ours, Life is Ours" project, which aims to strengthen the work-life balance of employees, a new generation working model was launched. The 'Kibar Volunteers' platform, established as part of corporate social responsibility activities, implemented nearly 100 projects over five years.

Number of Women Employees Growing Rapidly

As a signatory to the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), the Holding increased the number of women employees in its companies by 11.1% in 2022 compared to the previous year through its female employment support practices to prevent gender inequality. This represents a 54.1% increase over the last seven years. The proportion of senior women managers rose by 41.7% over the last 7 years. Based on the information provided, among the '36 Targets' that Kibar Group plans to achieve by 2025 in the field of sustainability are: achieving economic growth within the framework of sustainability principles, increasing the number of women employees and the proportion of senior women managers, enhancing professional development and participation, completing digital transformation in all companies, maintaining product and service quality at the highest standards, and implementing clean and environmentally sensitive technologies and processes.
