ISO First 500 List Includes 131 Aegean Companies

Istanbul Chamber of Industry announced that 81 companies with legal headquarters in the Aegean Region were included in Turkey's Top 500 Industrial Enterprises survey based on production-to-sales ratio, while 50 companies with production facilities in the Aegean Region but legal headquarters in different regions made the list. This brought the total number of Aegean Region companies on the list to 131. In the ISO Top 500 list, 38 companies from İzmir were included, followed by Manisa with 14 and Denizli with 10 companies. Balıkesir was represented by 7 companies among Turkey's industrial leaders, while Aydın had 5 companies on the list. Kütahya, Uşak and Muğla each had 2 companies on the list. TÜPRAŞ-Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş., which operates a refinery in İzmir Aliağa, became Turkey's largest industrial enterprise, while another İzmir-based refiner, Star Rafineri A.Ş., secured second place. Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.Ş., a Socar Group company and a long-standing member of the ISO 500 list, ranked 25th. Vestel Beyaz Eşya San. ve Tic. A.Ş., which entered the ISO 500 list at 19th place, maintained its position as the third-ranked company in the Aegean Region ranking and first among Manisa-based firms. Vestel Elektronik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. ranked 38th. Er-Bakır Elektrolitik Bakır Mamulleri A.Ş., Denizli's export champion, maintained its first place among Denizli companies while ranking 34th nationally on the list. Zorlu Doğal Elektrik Üretimi A.Ş. topped the ranking among Aydın companies, with the firm rising from 296th to 208th place in the national ranking. ISO Top 500 list member Banvit Bandırma Vitaminli Yem Sanayi A.Ş. at 88th place was the most successful company among Balıkesir firms, while Muğla's strong companies Gümüşdoğa Su Ürünleri Üretim İhracat ve İthalat A.Ş. at 94th and Kılıç Deniz Ürünleri Üretimi İhr. İth. ve Tic. A.Ş. at 129th place became sources of pride for Muğla. Gedik Tavukçuluk ve Tarım Ürünleri Tic. San. A.Ş. at 169th place and Özerdem Mensucat San. ve Tic. A.Ş. at 455th place were successful industrial enterprises representing Uşak.

16 new companies from Aegean Region entered the list

Of the 131 Aegean Region companies in the industrial champions league, 115 maintained their positions on the list, while 16 companies had the honor of entering the ISO Top 500 list this year. Kümaş Manyezit Sanayi A.Ş., based in Kütahya, entered the list at 257th place, while Qua Granite Hayal Yapı ve Ürünleri San. Tic. A.Ş., based in Aydın, joined the ISO Top 500 list starting from 264th place. Batı Kipaş Kağıt Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. from Aydın also made a successful entry to the ISO Top 500 list at 271st place.

Abalıoğlu entered with 4 companies, Yaşar Holding with 3

Abalıoğlu Group was represented on the list in 2021 by Abalıoğlu Yağ San. ve Tic. A.Ş., Abalıoğlu Lezita Gıda Sanayi A.Ş., and Abalıoğlu Yem Sanayi A.Ş., while in 2022 Abalıoğlu Balık ve Gıda Ürünleri A.Ş. joined the ISO Top 500 list, bringing the group's total to 4 companies. Yaşar Holding's Pınar Süt Mamülleri Sanayii A.Ş., Pınar Entegre Et ve Un Sanayii A.Ş., and DYO Boya Fabrikaları San. ve Tic. A.Ş. were represented on the ISO Top 500 list. Jak Eskinazi, Coordinator President of Aegean Exporters Associations, emphasized that the Aegean Region has historically been the center of production and exports, and expressed his satisfaction and pride in maintaining strong representation on the ISO Top 500 list. Stating that the Aegean Region exported USD 32 billion in 2022, Eskinazi said, "The Medium-Term Program targets USD 302.2 billion in exports. As the Aegean Region, we want to contribute USD 40 billion to the export target in the MTP. To reach this target, innovation, R&D, vocational training, marketing, design and sustainability are among the priority areas we focus on."
