Since the start of the pandemic, we have made an investment decision of USD 1.1 billion. Despite all restrictions, closures and travel difficulties, we have successfully completed our first USD 400 million investment since the first quarter of 2020. We have initiated our USD 700 million investment projects.During this process, with Hayat Kimya we are setting up a new tissue paper production facility in Mersin; with Kastamonu Entegre we are establishing a particleboard facility in Samsun and an MDF facility in Balıkesir.
We have established a surgical mask factory within our Kocaeli production campus. Thus, we have invested in a new category for us. Looking abroad, we will set up non-woven facilities in Egypt, paper facilities in Algeria and Russia, and particleboard facilities in Russia. With our new facility that we will bring online in addition to our existing paper factory in Russia, we will continue to be the largest tissue paper producer in that country." Noting that all these investments contribute to employment, Kiğılı said, "Since the start of the pandemic we have created over 2,000 additional jobs, and with our new investments we will provide employment opportunities to 1,600 more people."Baby diaper factory in Vietnam
Kiğılı, saying that after Turkey, the Middle East and Africa, they are now turning to Southeast Asia with a strategic investment, announced the opening of a baby diaper factory in Vietnam with an investment of USD 100 million. Kiğılı said, "The purpose of the production facility we established in Vietnam is to expand our operations in Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and 10 countries in the region. Our goal, as always in every market we enter, is to become one of the top two players in the market in a short time with our brands."Advertisement
