Flokser Kimya, which exports polyurethane sector products to more than 40 countries, accelerated its automation investments in 2021. Targeting end-to-end digital and automated management of quality, production, safety and efficiency processes, the company also has factory investment plans in Tarsus Organized Industrial Zone. Flokser Kimya, which operates Turkey's first ministry-approved dedicated polyurethane Research and Development center, will focus more on digitalization in 2021 alongside evolving technology and accelerated digitalization during the pandemic. The company incorporates practices such as concurrent aging and maintenance counters with various scenarios for zero downtime in current production facilities, and will integrate software robots along with physical robots into production processes in the coming period. With plans for a fully automated dark factory, the company aims to create dark warehouses and conduct inventory counts using drones. With new investments, the company targets developing new products for different sectors domestically and internationally while enhancing its capabilities.

"Proper process design is key to quality, efficiency and safety in production" Ekin Tükek, General Director of Flokser Kimya, commenting on digital transformation investments, stated: "Technology has begun establishing itself in a large part of our lives with its rapid development. From production to healthcare, from agriculture to economics, there is no field or sector that technology has not touched.

As sector leaders, we have accelerated our digital transformation and automation investments accordingly. We have renewed the systems we use to meet current and future needs while maintaining uninterrupted production. Proper process design is key to quality, efficiency and safety in production. We assign appropriate interlocks in process design for correct outputs and monitor them. Our production, planning, shipment, export, import, R&D and product development departments work in an integrated manner using relevant technologies, and we update them with the latest versions." "We are testing numerous projects within the scope of Industry 4.0" Tükek, noting that they have implemented pilot and industrial-scale applications, stated: "We specifically design and launch units that can operate within the Industry 4.0 vision. We continue our research to operate many lines more efficiently and error-free with new and best practices and potential problem areas. In this regard, we accelerated the transition of our ERP program to SAP HANA, the new version of SAP. In line with our principles of continuous improvement and innovation, our innovative perspective and mission to lead the sector, we are testing numerous projects within the scope of Industry 4.0. Our smart helmet project is among the important projects we are testing for Industry 4.0 purposes. With a smart helmet produced from a 3D printer, we can track gas levels in the environment, the person's real-time status, routes traveled during the day, violations and emergency situations. Thus, we contribute to production and safety," he said. Flokser Kimya, which exports polyurethane sector products to more than 40 countries, accelerated its automation investments in 2021.
