Eastern Black Sea Region Exports 31,603 Tons of Chemicals and Chemical Products

Chemical substances and products exports from the Eastern Black Sea Region reached USD 22,828,960 in the January-August period of 2020.

According to a compilation by AA correspondent from data of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKİB), the region exported 31,603 tons of chemical substances and products to 74 countries during the 8-month period of the year. During the period in question, Georgia, Germany and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) were the countries with the highest export volumes. In the January-August period, exports to Georgia reached USD 9,245,884, to Germany USD 2,834,990, and to TRNC USD 1,793,463.

The countries with the lowest export volumes were Bahrain, Croatia and Niger.

Exports were made to 70 countries in the same period of the previous year, while exports in this period reached 74 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and Australia. In the January-August 2019 period, the region earned USD 17,518,112 from exports of 20,694 tons of chemical substances and products. Exports in the same period of this year increased by 52.71% in terms of volume and 30.32% in terms of value compared to the previous year. Jordan was the country that achieved the highest revenue increase among countries receiving exports this year. Exports to Jordan, which totaled USD 1,127 in the 8-month period of the previous year, reached USD 55,940 in exports this year. Source
