Aksa Enerji Announces $5 Billion Investment Plan Through 2030

Aksa Enerji shared its current development and future targets with brokerage firms and portfolio management companies at its annual Analyst Meeting as part of its 2030 Global Strategy. 

At the meeting held under the leadership of Aksa Enerji senior management, Aksa Enerji Board Chairman and CEO Cemil Kazancı stated: "By the end of 2030, we are moving forward with the goal of tripling our installed capacity and creating USD 1.1 billion EBITDA through USD 5 billion in investment. We are fully confident that we will achieve this target with our strong and innovative strategy."

Turkey's largest publicly traded independent power producer, Aksa Enerji, continues to take important steps under its 2030 Global Strategy, which focuses on institutionalization, globalization and sustainable high growth.

At the Analyst Meeting held on 26 September Thursday at Four Seasons Bosphorus, Aksa Enerji shared its new investment and growth plans. By 2030, the company will expand its presence to new markets in Europe and America, extending its geographic footprint from 2 continents to 4 continents, and will triple its total installed capacity to 7,850 MW. Through renewable energy investments it will execute, it will bring the share of renewable energy in its total installed capacity to 28%. 

Aksa Enerji Board Chairman and CEO Cemil Kazancı stated: "As the energy sector is being reshaped due to climate change, Aksa Enerji continues to be determined not just to be part of this transformation, but to lead it. At where we stand today, we are driven by the mission to make energy access more reliable and sustainable. Our 2030 Global Strategy reflects our vision of providing solutions to future energy needs.

To this end, as Aksa Enerji, we continue to accelerate our investments without slowing down. We currently have investments ongoing at 4 different locations as part of our strategy. With our new investment decisions, particularly concentrated in the renewable energy sector, we will accelerate further to reach our target," he explained.  

Cemil Kazancı, stating that they are ambitious about reaching the USD 1.1 billion EBITDA target through USD 5 billion in investment as part of their 2030 strategy, said: "In the coming period, we will increase our installed capacity to 7,850 MW and expand our presence in global markets from 2 continents to 4 continents. While raising the share of renewable energy in our portfolio to 28 percent, as Aksa Enerji we will work for a more sustainable world, conscious of our environmental responsibilities. We will make all these initiatives possible with a strong investment worth USD 5 billion," he said.

Cemil Kazancı, noting that there is a strong financial structure behind their global targets, stated: "In the coming period, we will maintain this structure and ensure our company's growth on solid foundations. We will increase our EBITDA margin to 52 percent with a 25 percentage point increase. At the same time, through our take-or-pay contracts, we will minimize risk and focus on long-term success.

As Aksa Enerji, we will continue to shape the future energy world. The strategic targets we have set in this direction are the steps we are taking to shape not only today's energy but also tomorrow's. Wherever we operate, we will continue to create value for people and the environment; in doing so, we will continue to take steps that strengthen our country in every aspect," he said.

Strengthening Investments with Renewable Energy

In Aksa Enerji's 2030 Global Strategy, a significant portion of investments will go to renewable energy projects and lower-carbon natural gas power plants. Through these investments, the company's energy portfolio will include next-generation and new technology sources such as battery-backed wind and solar. Through these strong moves, Aksa Enerji will continue its growth both in Turkey and globally with respect for the environment and people.
