Wilo Selects DOMO's TECHNYL® Solutions Wilo is choosing DOMO's advanced TECHNYL® solutions for its pumps to ensure high-quality water distribution. Providing high-quality and sustainable water supply to consumers is a major challenge for city authorities. As cities grow, the challenge will only increase. The company has increasingly developed products that deliver certified high performance over decades in contact with hot water and cold drinking water in products such as water meters, heating systems and household appliances. The two companies share a common goal in contributing to urbanization mega-trends: both aim to make complex technologies user-friendly, simple to use, energy-efficient and high-performing. Wilo products combine the highest performance, German engineering and premium materials. They are designed to provide maximum efficiency in heating and cooling systems. DOMO Chemicals offers various options specially developed for applications, particularly in circulation pumps in the heating segment. Manuel Rossi, Technical Accounts Manager at DOMO, says: "The material of choice for Wilo was DOMO's TECHNYL® A218 V30 Black 34NG." "This is a polyamide 66 (PA66)-based injection moulding compound containing 30% glass fibre reinforcement that is heat-stabilized and glycol-resistant, and provides stable performance in continuous contact with water." This solution is applied to the production of the Wilo Para MSL/6-43/SC circulation pump for heating systems. A second approved grade for drinking water contact applications is TECHNYL A218W V30 BLACK FA. The two grades, marginally superior to TECHNYL A218 V30 Black 34NG, show very similar performance in glycol aging. (As you can see from the graphs). The APT (Application Parts Test) laboratory in the Engineering Materials division of DOMO Chemicals is well equipped to test samples and finished parts for water management applications. Key characteristics can be evaluated on samples and finished parts even under the most extreme conditions. Water temperature, pressure, flow rate, concentration of different substances (such as chlorine, oxygen), pH and other parameters can all be varied and controlled. Results from the tests make it possible to predict performance throughout all anticipated product lifespans.
