KRAIBURG TPE Introduces Self-Adhesive Solution

Babynator, a learning-to-eat set for babies and small children, makes mealtimes cleaner. The non-slip system includes a self-adhesive mat made from KRAIBURG TPE's THERMOLAST® K that holds replaceable accessories such as plates and bowls firmly in place. A solution developed by a newly established operation in Styria, Austria, comes into play here. The adhesive-plate technology was originally developed for pets and was refined to create "Yummynator". In the next step, the product was further developed in compliance with all rules and regulations required for materials used with babies and in contact with food – Babynator was born. The product's key feature: the mat made from THERMOLAST® K provides adhesion to many tables and high chairs. The mat is available as part of a set or separately from bowls and plates, and in various colours. The critical factor in the project is the compound's adhesion to different surfaces. To ensure safe use in many different homes, the material needs to adhere to the surfaces of as many tables and high chairs as possible. However, this can only be achieved if the material sits flat on surfaces without creating bubbles or protrusions. For this reason, the compound has good processing properties and a high degree of dimensional stability. Another advantage of the product solution is the ability to use colours with high gloss and special effect colours. A bayonet socket integrated directly into the substrate using multi-component injection moulding allows various plates and bowls made from polypropylene to be attached easily and safely, so that the bowl is always held securely in place.

Additional advantages include: the compound used also has a non-stick surface, making it more resistant to dirt than other materials. Additionally, thanks to its special composition, it does not leave oil and grease stains or marks on different materials. Particularly untreated wooden surfaces are therefore perfectly protected.
