Efficient and Sustainable Coating for Galvanized Steels, Alesta® AP QualiSteel

Axalta's innovative powder coating Alesta® AP QualiSteel offers coaters the advantages they seek for coating hot-dip galvanized steels. Extremely high UV and moisture resistance according to Qualisteelcoat specifications provides a longer service life for coated parts. Axalta Coating Systems' new collection, featuring a wide RAL color range, makes coating more sustainable through the absence of toxic substances and low application rates. When it comes to protecting galvanized steel structures and products, demands for appearance and sustainability have increased considerably. In response to this trend, Axalta offers Alesta® AP QualiSteel powder coatings with architectural quality and high efficiency. Thanks to innovative product-specific properties, the coating can be applied without a pre-degassing step. Compared to the application of the conventional two-step method, the new powder coating application provides the opportunity to increase efficiency without affecting the appearance of the coated surface. High efficiency and lower curing temperature offer superior advantages for contract applicators and in-house powder coating operations. Depending on the product to be coated, Alesta® AP QualiSteel can cure at temperatures as low as 160°C, while efficiency can increase further at higher temperatures. In addition to material and energy savings, sustainability is an important characteristic of the new powder coatings. Powder coatings that are part of the international quality certification system "Qualisteelcoat" also provide excellent UV balance and mechanical resistance, which significantly extends the service life of components. Alesta® AP QualiSteel is typically used for coating steel structures, machine components, garden and outdoor furniture, fencing, rails, playground equipment, street and outdoor lighting, and many other products.
