Axalta Receives Two Edison Awards

Axalta (NYSE:AXTA) won two Edison Best New Products™ awards at a ceremony held in New York City on 4 April 2019, recognizing excellence in technological innovation, new product and service development, marketing and human-centered design. In the Materials Science and Engineering category, Axalta's Acquire™ Quantum EFX product won the Bronze award, while Voltaprem 5000 received the Silver Award. Axalta's color acquisition system using the Acquire™ Quantum EFX spectrophotometer is digitizing the paint shop industry and improving color matching by eliminating subjective visual assessments. This innovative product provides the first "color" and "sparkle" measurement technology delivering superior color and appearance in OEM factory finishes on automobiles. The system combines advanced color technology in a lighter and faster unit, providing greater vehicle efficiency and helping customers achieve more precise and faster color matching. This state-of-the-art spectrophotometer is also available for Axalta's three premium global automotive refinish brands in the EMEA region. These units are marketed under the brands ChromaVision Cromax® Pro Mini, Color Dialog Phoenix from Spies Hecker, and Genius iQ from Standox. Axalta's newly launched Voltaprem 5000, an environmentally friendly impregnation resin for high-voltage applications, provides shorter application time and lower energy consumption. This product delivers better coating and makes application more efficient and productive. Axalta's technological innovations reduce application temperature by 20 degrees while delivering 20% faster application and cure speed. Voltaprem 5000 also contains 25% renewable raw materials. This clearly demonstrates the future of high-voltage motor impregnation resins.
