Şişecam is Establishing a Glass Packaging Plant in Hungary Şişecam held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 255 million Euro Greenfield glass packaging facility to be built in Kaposvar, Hungary. The groundbreaking ceremony of the facility was attended by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, Kaposvar Deputy Attila Gelencsér, Kaposvar Mayor Károly Szita, Şişecam Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman and Şişecam General Manager Görkem Elverici attended. Şişecam is Establishing a Glass Packaging Plant in Hungary Şişecam Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman pointed out that Şişecam makes most of its international sales to the European market, and in his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony, he emphasized that Şişecam considers creating value for its entire ecosystem one of its top priorities. Kırman: “The European market constitutes a quarter of the global glass packaging market and offers important opportunities for the rapid development of the sector and for our company to expand its current production footprint. Our positive experiences in Hungary played a major role in prioritizing Hungary while planning our glass packaging production facility investment in Europe.”
