Mearlmica FF – Reliable Alternative to Talc

As an optically neutral performance mineral, Mearlmica® FF provides a neutral base with a soft, creamy texture in cosmetics and personal care applications.

Product Performance:
• Soft, creamy textured performance mineral,
• Comparable oil absorption to talc and sericite,

Mearlmica® FF is a comparable alternative to available talc and sericite products with similar attributes.
Formulation Tips & Tricks:
Mearlmica® FF’s small particle size creates a neutral background for a range of finishes;
• For matte finishes, Mearlmica® FF can be combined with ingredients such as kaolin or
silica to enhance the low luster appearance and smooth texture.
• For shimmering or sparkling finishes, Mearlmica® FF can be blended with performance minerals such as BiLite® 20 in addition to any of our effect pigment products.
Mearlmica® FF creates a bright background color for powder applications:
• Simple formula manipulation can maintain vivid shades when using Mearlmica® FF in talc-free re-formulations.
• At typical use levels in anhydrous or emulsion formulations, Mearlmica® FF is optically neutral due to its low refractive index.
Mearlmica® FF can be used to create lightweight loose
powder formulations:
• In pressed powder formulas, the compressibility of Mearlmica® FF, as with other platy materials, can be enhanced by combining with high density performance minerals.
◊ Bismuth oxychloride-based products such as BiLite® 20 or Pearl-Glo® M can ensure desirable texture and drop stability.
◊ Beyond our performance minerals, other compression aids such as kaolin or metal soaps can be used to improve stability.
