At the Mowilex offices, a new parking lot solar canopy catches sunlight while sheltering automobiles. The system generates the greatest amount of energy permitted by current state electric company standards and will reduce Mowilex's carbon emissions at that plant by up to 30%.
With the solar deployment, Indonesia's first and only net-zero producer builds on its commitment to carbon neutrality. Four years ago, Mowilex, a manufacturer of luxury paints, wood coatings, and building coatings, received its first CarbonNeutral® accreditation. The solar project reduces emissions while also helping two national goals: Indonesia plans to use 25% renewable energy by 2030 and to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2060.

The company introduced its solar installation at the sidelines of the 2022 G20 Heads of State and Government Summit meeting in Bali, with world leaders discussing clean energy, climate and the economy. Mowilex supports several projects aligned with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including initiatives that promote renewable energy, biodiversity and responsible community development.
