
Clariant has supported 8th Underwater Waste Exhibition and Education Workshop hosted by Turkish Marine Environment Protection Association (TURMEPA) as the main sponsor. For the eighth consecutive year and in line with the World Environment Week, the exhibition opened its doors on June 7th with the attendance of Clariant employees and their children.
Throughout the workshop, participants were informed about the importance of water and the seas, water resources all around the world and water contamination. The workshop hosted visitors between June and November 2018 in order to raise awareness of protection of marine environment. With the theme of “Water’s Journey”, the main purpose of the project was to emphasize the importance of water resources conservation and sea protection by introducing various ways to reduce water footprint. It hosted 1450 visitors from public and private schools, summer schools, municipalities and as well as various other institutions and foundations.
Interactive puzzle games made it possible to have fun while learning at the same time. In the scope of the workshop, an average of 10 volunteers and TURMEPA professionals provided ninety-minute trainings and workshops for children. The participants were also able to learn about water’s journey and water footprint while having fun playing the interactive puzzle game.
