We conducted a pleasant interview with Mr. Emre Kırca, Commercial Director of
Veser Kimyevi Maddeler Anonim Şirketi, where we discussed the company’s quality rules and success policy. Mr. Kırca also defined their social responsibility projects and the importance they attach to sustainability.
Would you talk about yourself and your background to our readers?
I was born in Istanbul in 1982. After completing my primary, secondary and high school education in Istanbul, I lived in Bursa for 4 years during my university education. While I was studying at Uludağ University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration, I also took the first step into the Veser family. My career began in the Finance department of Veser Kimya’s Bursa branch.
After completing my university education and returning to Istanbul, I never left Veser Kimya, except for military service and going abroad for a short-term language
training. In my 14 years of uninterrupted adventure in Veser since 2007, I had the opportunity to work in Finance, Foreign Trade, Procurement, and Sales departments.
What did I do besides working: I got married in 2012… The marriage adventure also advanced rapidly and we added 3 children to our family. We have 2 daughters
and 1 son. Having a large family with our paw children allows us to live 24 hours to the fullest.
I am a man with a passion for the sea… Working remotely during the pandemic brought me closer to the sea. Whenever possible, I try to include my family in this organization and teach children to live at sea.
Currently, I am working as Commercial Director at Veser Kimyevi Maddeler A.Ş. with the merger of the Veser family and Vinmar, we continue to provide strong services to the chemical industry and I am proud to be a part of this structure.
What would you like to say about your company? What are your success criteria?
Veser has been serving the Turkish and foreign markets since 1988 and I am always “proud to say” it is a strong company. The biggest source of this power is “working
honestly”. We never feared losing customers or markets, but losing our ethical values was our biggest fear. Thanks to this appreciation, we built a structure that grows day by day.
Our journey continues with our established, major distributorships which we started our business partnership with and still continue, our valuable customers, whom we know are walking on the same path with us, our product portfolio and service network that we will never stop developing.
The journey that began as a company with Turkish capital, presented a different vision for us in 2017 with the Vinmar International family… Our growth-oriented structure gained momentum when it matched with Vinmar’s strategy. Currently, we continue to compete with ourselves in the chemical industry by synthesizing a global power with a local company culture.
Which sectors do you address? What type of products do you offer?
Veser Kimyevi Maddeler A.Ş. has a product range that can be present directly or indirectly at every point of production. Here I will repeat what I have never stopped
saying: We “put our signature on every packaged quality product”.
Although our distributorship agreements in development stage and search for business partners never end; Cosmetics and Detergent Chemicals, Textile Auxiliaries, Construction Chemicals, Paint Industry Chemicals, Epoxy-Polyurethane and Polymerization Chemicals, Food Additives, Pharmaceutical Auxiliary Raw Materials, Water-Pool Chemicals, Mineral Oils, Agrochemical Emulsifiers, Metal Chemicals and Rubber Chemicals are included in our product portfolio.
Effects of the pandemic were very intense last year and such effects are still continuing. How was your company affected from this situation and what kind of measures did it take?
With the onset of the pandemic process and the occurrence of cases in our country, the guidance and prevention measures declared by our official institutions and the World Health Organization (WHO) were taken into account. Office work was carried out remotely in order to reduce contact, while meetings and trainings began to be organized online. Our logistics personnel, who continued to work actively on-site, were constantly informed. They were provided with protective equipment and their working environments were periodically disinfected.
HES application was used. With the onset of vaccination process, all employees were informed. Our vaccination rate is 100% complete. As a result of these developments, the work we completed were documented. (TSE COVID-19 SECURE SERVICE CERTIFICATE)
What aftersales services do you offer to your customers?
This is a very good question. High-quality service is provided not only during the sale, but also before and after the sale. We assume all responsibility until the end consumer uses the products. We believe from the very beginning that our raw material marketing and sales business is not only focused on tonnage and profit margin, but also on the market success of our customers and maintaining a long-term business partnership with our company. We have always tried to create a winwin situation. We believe that these are the secrets of our success, which has been increasing every year for nearly 30 years. One of our goals is having our company known as “Chemistry Service” by our business partners.
We also have an application laboratory for our raw materials. In this laboratory, we put to test the quality of the materials we offer to our customers. According to the demands of our business partners, we conduct new product research and development studies together with measurement and assessment studies on finished product quality. Our customers know that the raw materials purchased from Veser are insured by Veser and they would not have a problem that we cannot be solve. We have never compromised our service, customer satisfaction and quality and we never will.
What is your outlook on technology as Veser? How do you define the place and importance of technology in the sector you address?
With the pandemic conditions and the new normal, technology became the most important part of our lives. Computers and smartphones came between us
and our partners with whom we went out and had coffee, asked how each other were doing, and enjoyed chatting. With the obligatory home-office working order, we were also away from our colleagues.
Of course, there were cases when we turned this into an opportunity. We started to meet more frequently online with our partners that we could not meet with due to physical distance. The concept of travel disappeared from our lives, and of course, this saved us time. In fact, I can say that we started to work more efficiently.
The companies that we supply raw materials for are in a position of constantly renewing themselves in the developing technological order. This compels us to offer the most state-of-the-art technology products to our partners.
If there is a social responsibility project your company initiated or pioneered, would you give us information about these?
In 2019 and 2020 in cooperation with TEMA (Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion) we donated 5 saplings for every employee to give on their birthdays and created a small memorial forest.
In 2021 we applied our social responsibility project in the field of education and chose a school we thought we could contribute to as sister school. We enriched our school library both with donations of our employees and with the company’s contributions. We visited the school the first day of the academic year to deliver gifts ourselves and enjoyed happiness of our little friends together. We established a soccer field and increased
sports opportunities.
During the fire in Muğla that tore our hearts out by the end of July 2021, we supplied fire extinguishing equipment, quilts, blankets, sheets, kitchen utensils, underwear for women and men, burn creams and miscellaneous needs to Milas with the donations collected from all our employees and our company and sent them to those in need.
Could you give information about quality policy and principles of your company?
Distributorship agreements we concluded with companies that have made a name for themselves in the global market keep our quality standards at the highest level. Veser Kimya registered its quality with its ISO 9001:2000 certificate since 2003 and ISO 9001:2008 with its new version in 2008 together with current ISO 9001:2015 certificate. In addition, we successfully passed the ISO 45001:2018 audit. I would like to proudly state that we are one of the leading companies entitled to the TSE COVID-19 SAFE SERVICE certificate.
At the same time, in order to adapt to innovation, we use the highest technology we need in the company operations and measure our efficiency. Veser’s quality
is not just its products but also its family. We consider raising the living standards of our employees, providing them with training to increase their knowledge and skills, and enabling them to improve themselves among the primary targets in the internal planning process and we wish all personnel adopts these targets. In order to increase our quality every year, we move forward with hievable policies and continue our formation by improving all parts in a coordinated way on the way to success.
What measures you take while producing for a more sustainable world? Would you define Veser’s approach at sustainability in this framework?
Our distributors are our biggest chance…
This is a subject that comes up in almost every product meeting. All our distributors are engaged in R&D studies in order to provide a more environmentally friendly world and more habitable opportunities to future generations... We happily explain this new development to our manufacturing companies and offer new formulation support for them to change their product content.
Protecting nature, animals, humans, and moreover, our future should not be a social responsibility ritual or a marketing policy, but an obligation. As the Veser family, we are happy and hopeful to have integrated this into both our commercial operations and our social life.
Would you discuss your targets for the future? What kind of innovations are expecting Veser in the coming years?
Just like all companies, our target is to make our growing structure sustainable and permanent. In order to achieve this, we will be with our customers with new
raw materials, diverse suppliers, and new R&D projects tomorrow just like we were yesterday.
In addition, inorganic growth is among our targets with company mergers and new acquisitions that will make us stronger.
