ScentARCTM, a new ingredient technology from Arcaea, is intended to biologically shift scent in a precise and natural way. ScentARCTM, a deodorant formulation solution that deodorant brands can use in their own consumer offerings, was created using a biology-first technology platform that made use of machine learning, high throughput screening, and skin microbiology research.
Specific underarm microbes can be targeted by ScentARCTM technology. By selectively and naturally preventing the production of pungent compounds without the use of antimicrobials or smell-masking agents, it modifies the odor profile of the user. 87 percent of participants in a third-party consumer panel said the technology stopped foul odors from developing throughout the day. They all agreed that the product was non-irritating and gentle.

When it comes to the $25B deodorant category, the underlying science relies on approaches developed in the 1800s: masking smells, killing odor, or blocking and absorbing sweat. Hundreds of brands around the world have already expressed interest in sampling Arcaea's new active substance in order to collaborate on improving deodorant formulation.
