How Ionpure Works
Ionpure prevents the proliferation and growth of
bacteria in cables and plastic materials. By controlling and eliminating the growth of bacteria, Ionpure prevents the degradation of the polymer itself.
When microbes that can cause stains, odors and product deterioration such as bacteria, mold, rust disease, come into contact with the product surface, Ionpure passes through the
cell wall of the microbe, interrupting basic cell activities, and thus the microbe cannot perform its functions, grow or multiply.
As a powerful anti-microbial agent, Ionpure provides complete and reliable protection.
Ionpure also shows its effect when it comes into contact with moisture in the air. In the presence of moisture, the glass matrix gradually breaks down and the silver ion of Ionpure is released.
One of the uniquely potent properties of Ionpure is that its effectiveness is independent of the amount of Na present. As long as moisture is present in the air, the glass matrix will continue to gradually break down and release silver ions.
Qualities of Ionpure
Ionpure is an inorganic anti-microbial agent with much higher qualities and overall superiority compared to its organic counterparts.
Ionpure; it is an antimicrobial resistant to 500°C. Does not deteriorate in cable and plastic production. It is FDA and EPA approved. It is suitable for the Pharmaceutical and Food industry. It has the power to withstand high acidic and high alkaline conditions. 100% non-volatile. More sensitive to skin and human body.
Ionpure Tests & Certificates
Ionpure has been tested in Japan in JNLA Certified (valid in Japan) laboratories. Customers who wish to test Ionpure in an independent third party lab are free to do so. All costs of such testing in third-party laboratories will be borne by our requesting customers.
Coating/Painting Applications
Ionpure can be mixed into solvent-based and waterbased coatings. Ionpure should be added slowly into the application liquid so that the obtained substance does not clump or clump. In solvent-coating; Ionpure maintains its integrity for a long time.
However, in water-based paint applications, the coating should be applied immediately after Ionpure has been added to the paint, because the longer Ionpure is left in the wet paint, the less its effectiveness in waterbased paint will be.
Compound/Master Batch Applications
In some applications, it is necessary to prepare a master batch first. Following preparation of the master batch or compound of Ionpure, this compound can be applied through a funnel, just as with a colored master batch.
Example Master Lot Rates
Masterbatches prepared using Ionpure usually contain 20 percent Ionpure and 80 percent resin. For this reason, it can be said that the application rate is 2.5-3.0 percent in terms of Ionpure concentration.
However, there are also master batches prepared with 50 percent Ionpure. 20 percent is generally a good rate for the beginning, and it is always possible to increase this rate based on the production demand and capacity. ABS and PC master batches require higher concentrations.
Anti-Fungus and Anti-Mildew
Ionpure can also be used in anti-fungal applications; however, the dosage used in these applications is different from the dosage used in anti-microbial applications. Fungi are much more powerful organisms compared to bacteria.
Therefore, we need much higher doses in antifungal applications. Dosages as low as 0.3 or 0.5 percent will not be sufficient. If you are considering using Ionpure as an anti-fungal, your application rate should be between 3 percent and 5 percent.
Different Breeds of Ionpure
Ionpure WPA
• Registered with the EPA (Non-Food) in the USA.
• It is registered with the FDA in the USA.
• It has different particle sizes (<5, <10, <50).
• 5, often used in fiber applications (especially PA).
• 10, generally used in general coating applications (including powder coating).
• 50 is generally used in grades with small particle size (we recommend this grade for artificial marble).
Ionpure IPL
• Registered with the EPA (Non-Food) in the USA.
• It is registered with the FDA in the USA.
• It is registered with EFSA in the EU.
• The particle size is 40.
• It is generally used in injection molding applications.
Ionpure ZAF
• Registered with the EPA (Non-Food) in the USA.
• Particle size <5.
• It is generally used in fiber applications (PET fiber).
It has also been used in water-based paint.
Ionpure IP
• It is registered with the FDA.
• It is not registered with the EPA.
• Silver-based anti-microbial agents.
• Similar to IPL.
• Particle size <40.
• Can be used with many types of base polymers.
• Injection molding and/or extrusion.
The difference in each breed is due to the use of different glass matrices in them. Some glass matrices dissolve easily, while others are difficult. We control the duration of Ionpure’s activity by the melting rate of the glass matrix.
Before recommending a certain type of Ionpure to our customers, we discuss and evaluate
their needs and issues such as base polymer, application and usage environment.
Ionpure’s Packaging
Ionpure powder is sealed in flat polyethylene bags. To eliminate the possibility of exposure to moisture, these polyethylene bags are sealed in an aluminum crate. The aluminum crate is visibly labeled.
During transportation, Ionpure aluminum crates are placed in the carbon box. Our customers should store the Ionpure boxes that reach them in this way in a dark and cool
place as specified in the MSDS.
Packaging Dimensions
• Bags weighing 15/20 kg are placed in a cardboard box.
• The size of the cardboard box is 410 x 260 x 420 (mm).
• Its net weight is 15 or 20 kg.
• Its gross weight is 16.3 or 21.3 kg.
• The size of the pallet is 1110 x 1110 x 1250 (mm).
• A pallet can contain up to 600 kg of product.
• A pallet can hold up to 30 20 kg cardboard boxes.
• The number of 15 kg cardboard boxes a pallet can take is 40.
Ionpure Customs Tariff Code

Shelf Life of Ionpure
When stored unopened in a cool and dark environment, Ionpure’s shelf life is 6 months from the date of shipment.
Ishizuka Free Test in Japan
The necessary information in this regard is given below:
1. Plate panel larger than 5x5 cm.
2. Ishizuka performs two bacterial tests: one for E.coli and the other for Staph aureus (Please send two separate samples for each concentration (%) level, so the test will be performed with two samples).
3. If we encounter technical difficulties during testing, we may ask you to send additional plates if possible.
4. Please indicate which of the samples you sent is a witness sample.
5. If you would like your samples to be tested against the blank as well, please also indicate which is the blank so that Ishuzuka can compare the viable bacteria count with that of the blank samples.
6. If possible, try different concentration levels (eg 0.3%, 0.5%).
