Information on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
Members of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA) and others in the cleaning industry now have access to comprehensive information on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) through a recently published Fact Sheet by the CHSA.
EPR came into effect earlier this year, placing the responsibility for recycling the packaging of household-disposed products on the producers themselves. This aims to foster a circular economy by encouraging the maximum utilization of resources.

Additionally, EPR discourages the use of non-recyclable packaging and promotes the adoption of reusable packaging, while also funding the complete recovery costs of packaging waste collected by local authorities.
The Fact Sheet, created by CHSA members for CHSA members, highlights the organizations affected by EPR for Packaging and provides guidance on how organizations are categorized. It also informs members about the necessary actions they need to take to ensure compliance.
The Fact Sheet on Extended Producer Responsibility can be accessed from the CHSA website.
