CROPURE™ High Purity Natural Oils

CROPURE™ High Purity Natural Oils
  • 24.03.2020
By nature, triglyceride oils have a distinct colour and odour and are usually relatively unstable. These undesirable characteristics can be attributed to polar substances in the oil. Their presence can detract from the aesthetics of the oil and affect not only the consistency of the oil but also that of the final product. The Cropure Natural Oils is a range of high-purity natural triglycerideswhose distinction as light colour, nearly odourless, high stability against rancidity in long term sets them apart from conventional cosmetic oils. Such high purity is achieved by Croda’s proprietary Super RefinedTM process without altering the fundamental triglyceride profile.

Super Refined Oils

Super Refined™ Technology is a proprietary process that purifies oils to remove tiny polar molecules without altering the fundamental triglycerides profile. Using this technology, highly purified cosmetic oils can be obtained in a lighter colour and lower odour intensity. Stability of the oils is improved, for instance, they have stronger resistance against rancidity over long term. This high purity quality allows formulators to have better control of the consistency of fragrance system and quality of products in long term. Characteristics of Super Refined™ Natural Oils • Excellent oxidation stability. • Excellent hydrolysis stability. • Excellent heat tolerance. • Improved colour and odour.

Improved Oxidation Stability

Natural triglycerides are susceptible to oxidation initiated by heat, light and catalysts (including certain types of metal). The oxidation process results in the formation of peroxides and hydroperoxides, which can be identified by a standard peroxide value test. As oxidation continues, the peroxide value increases and secondary products are formed, including carbonyl compounds (aldehydes and ketones) and alcohols. Carbonyl compounds are known to cause discolouration, change of odour and irritations. The Super Refined™ process removes peroxides, hydroperoxides as well as secondary oxidation products. It can also minimise the generation of carbonyl compounds.       Sena Yegin Derelioğlu Sales Representative Croda Türkiye
