BASF Fulfills Palm Commitment Again BASF fulfilled its Palm Commitment once more: In 2021, 100 percent RSPO-certified palm (kernel) oil was sourced. In 2021, BASF achieved its goal of sourcing all palm (kernel) oils certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) from sustainable sources. In 2021, the company purchased 242,946 metric tons of certified palm kernel oil on a voluntary basis, accounting for 100% of total procurement volume. BASF also made strides in developing transparent supply chains, with nearly 96 percent of the company's global oil palm footprint - a total of 441,107 metric tons - traceable back to the oil mill where it was produced. BASF avoided more than 330,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions when compared to traditional sourcing. These figures are among those included in the company's sixth edition of its Palm Progress Report, which has just been released.
