Artificial Leather Applications of Antibacterial Additive Anti-Cor
Anti-Cor is a water-based antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal long-lasting biocidal product containing organosilane quaternary amine compound. Anti-Cor has been developed to destroy the growth and development of microorganisms on the applied surfaces and to protect the relevant surface for a long time. Anti-Cor product is used as an additive in polyurethane applications in many sectors such as textile, automotive and packaging and shows high activity against microorganisms.

In addition to providing permanent long-term protection owing to the protection barrier it forms on the surfaces where Anti-Cor is applied, it has many positive features such as;
• Being water-based,
• Non-flammable and non-caustic,
• Does not contain heavy metals and silver ions,
• No carcinogenic effect,
• Being colorless and non-staining,
• Containing EPA registered active ingredient,
• Approved by the Ministry of Health, therefore, Anti-Cor is preferred in various application
fields.
Anti-Cor exhibits a good adhesion behavior on the surfaces it is applied due to its silane group in its chemical structure, while its quaternary ammonium cation structure denatures the proteins of enveloped viruses such as Covid-19, bacteria and fungal cells, thereby inactivating the relevant microorganisms.

According to the ISO 21702:2019 standard, when the Covid-19 (SARS-COV-2) virus is added to the metal surface coated with Anti-Cor, it has been determined that the virus killing efficiency of the surface is 99.9999%.
Anti-Cor can be used safely in artificial leather applications both as an additive material in the polyurethane, or by giving it into the resin at the finishing process. As a result of the studies carried out with both methods, artificial leather samples with antibacterial properties were successfully obtained. In the antibacterial activity determination made by an independent laboratory with international accreditation, artificial leather samples treated with Anti-Cor product showed a strong antibacterial effect of 99.9%.
