3M has acquired Scott Safety, one of the world’s leading suppliers of, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and gas and flame detection instruments which are among the key categories of personal protective equipment industry, from Johnson Controls at a total enterprise value of $2 billion.
This acquisition will further strengthen 3M’s presence in the occupational safety and personal protective equipment industry which is a strategical priority for 3M and will mark a new period as the company will offer to its customers the self-contained breathing apparatus, mobile gas detectors and thermal cameras which were not available as a part of their portfolio before.

3M Turkey Safety and Graphics Business Group Country Director Levent Oguz stated that they would expand the portfolio they offer in this area in Turkey and in the world with the acquisition of Scott Safety and added:
