Dangerous chemicals are now used in many industrial process steps in today’s industry. Although the use of dangerous chemicals was considered a big discovery for creating advanced technology, it has been concluded that the use of the dangerous chemicals should be kept under control for both human and environmental health. For this reason, a number of directives, regulations, and standards have been developed on this issue, which is especially emphasized by the member states of the European Union. In our country, which is in the process of EU harmonization, in addition to the “Regulation on the Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Goods and Drug Products”, which is implemented by the Ministry of Environment, regarding dangerous chemicals, and the “Regulation on Occupational Health and Safety” implemented by the Ministry of Labour; the “Regulation on Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road” was put into effect by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on January 1st, 2014. The effectuated “Regulation on Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road” has imposed various obligations on businesses that deliver, receive, unload, package, load, carry, or temporarily store dangerous chemicals in quantities of 50 tonnes or more per year.
The most important of these obligations is the obligation to employ at least one Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor or to get service from the TMGDK (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisory Organizations) authorized by the Administration for the businesses within the scope of this regulation.
Our company, founded by Havva Esra Gültekin, who has been involved in this process as an instructor of Dangerous Goods Safety Advisory training since the beginning, gained a place in this sector in January 2018 after obtaining the authorization certificate from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. The goal of our company providing Dangerous Goods Safety Advisory services in different areas such as health, transportation, chemical materials production, radioactive materials, and textile is to raise awareness of the risks to be faced in working with dangerous goods as well as prevention of the non-conformities for businesses in order to avoid criminal sanctions. The fact that many fires and explosions caused by the accidents involving dangerous goods were included in the worldwide statistics was effective in including fire education in our consultancy service with a holistic approach. In our country, which became a party, in 2010, to ADR (European Agreement on International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), which was put into effect in 1968, there are today 28546 businesses which possess Dangerous Goods Activity Certificates. The contribution of Dangerous Goods Safety Advisory Organizations to this number cannot be denied. In this sense, our company follows both international and national ADR activities and takes its place in the developing sector with a dynamic team with innovative and unique approaches.
