WPI Expands EVOM™
  • 25.10.2023
With the addition of 96 and 24 multiwell capacities on a single platform, World Precision Instruments (WPI) is thrilled to increase the EVOMTM Auto's functionality. Transepithelial Electrical Resistance (TEER), a well-known, non-invasive, and widely accepted method of evaluating epithelial and endothelial cells and tissues, can be measured quickly and consistently with the EVOMTM Auto. TEER technology and high-throughput screening capabilities are combined in WPI's EVOMTM Auto to produce automated measurements of cell permeability, cell confluency, and tissue and monolayer barrier integrity. The EVOMTM Auto is made to readout the vital physiology of barrier tissues like the blood-brain barrier, the GI tract, the lung, and the skin, and it offers a quick and effective platform for research ranging from basic science to drug development. WPI Expands EVOM™ "As we continue to enhance our TEER product offerings, we are excited to offer the additional capability to perform automated TEER measurements on the EVOM™ Auto in both 24 and 96 well plate formats. 24-well plates are commonly used for 3D tissue models and cell therapies, and EVOM™ Auto enables our customers to perform rapid, non-invasive measurements of barrier integrity and cell confluence," noted Dr. Adrienne Watson, Chief Scientific Officer of WPI. Dr. Watson continued, "Our EVOM™ Auto is a foundational tool in high-throughput laboratories, and as a result, we will continue to invest in enhancing this platform with innovative technologies to accelerate drug development." The EVOMTM also has wireless device control, electrode disinfection during measurement, compatibility with all top-selling 24 and 96 multiwell cell culture plates, and the ability to fit inside an incubator or sterile cell culture hood.
