“Sulfate free” Surfactant Mixture for Shampoo & Personal Care

Teqpon AAB, one of about 90 different raw materials that is being manufactured in Kale Kimya Group’s 10.000 m2 sized Düzce plant, is a sulfate free surfactant mixture with high cleaning performance and cost advantage. In order to get rid of the carcinogenic effects that sulfated compounds can reveal in the body, the new trend “sulfate-free” products are becoming popular in the market. These types of products contain surfactants rather than SLES. Teqpon AAB; is a mixture of: Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate & Lauryl Glucoside & Cocoamidopropyl Betaine Main properties of Teqpon AAB are; • So easy and adaptable to use in formulation, • Easy process for shampoo and shower gel, • Less irritation because of no sulfate; has mild feel, • High foam, • Preservative free, • Concentreated product so it can be advantage for stock, • Cold processable, energy and time saving, • Rapid and reliable supply, • It is possible to dissolve 2% salicylic acid with 20% Teqpon AAB. Teqpon AAB can be used in all formulations with surfactant. As the main uses; shampoo, shower gel, liquid soap, liquid laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid. Foam comparison tests between Teqpon AAB and SLES (both are 5% solution) were performed. Results show that Teqpon AAB has better performance:

The best choice according to Viscosity-Salt Diagram; • For Shampoo (10-active; viscosity 6.200cps): - Teqpon AAB %22,3 - Glyceryl Caprylate/Caprate %0,3 - No salt • For Hand Liquid (6,5-active; viscosity 5.900cps): - Teqpon AAB %14,4 - Cocoamide DEA %1 - No salt The viscosity values of Teqpon AAB with different preservatives and added salt are given in the following table:   Özgür Çelen Marketing Executive Kale Kimya Group
