From the Spray Pattern to the Perfect Finish SprayVision material savings, quality improvements, and fewer reject parts – the digitalization of coating processes and consistent control of the spray pattern ensure that coating defects can be recognized and corrected early on, thus avoiding negative effects. SprayVision is a technology for the digitalization of coating processes, and consists of a combination of hardware and software. This technology enables users to better understand the performance of their coating lines and to optimize the parameters on the basis of the data collected. Before the start of a production batch, SprayVision can be used to check whether the results at the end of the production line comply with the required quality standards. The process control function compares the captured spray pattern with the standard production pattern and gives a warning if there are any deviations in the size, shape, or volume of paint applied. The user is then given a suggestion to check specific parts of the application equipment. Optimization of the Coating Parameters

The system provides a clear overview of the volume of paint applied, the paint distribution, and the coating thickness profile, thus allowing the user to make an objective decision on which combination of pressure, paint flow, and robot velocity should be used. All measurements can be carried out during the wet phase, without the need to wait until the paint is dry. As a result, transfer efficiency can be increased by more than 10%. Based on this, the software quickly and easily creates an initial robot program. Both in the implementation of new projects and in everyday production, the paint thickness on the components is one of the most important aspects that are directly related to quality. SprayVision can provide information about the paint thickness distribution in just a few minutes after spraying has taken place. This makes it possible to analyze the complete surface and to verify overlapping trajectories – even on very complex parts such as bumpers. Analyzing Every Droplet
The manufacturers of coating equipment, paint producers, or subcontract painters can all use SprayVision to analyze the coating even down to the droplet level. The technology provides information on the number, size, and volume of every droplet in a selected area up to 10 × 10 cm. As a result, the atomization process itself becomes an analyzable part of the spray pattern.
