Encina Development Group ("Encina" or the "Company"), a producer of circular chemicals, announced that its circular monomers made from post-consumer and scrap plastic have received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS designation.
ISCC is a well-known and respected third-party certification system. Companies and their customers can be confident that the claimed sustainability characteristics, such as the percentage of recycled content, have been credibly validated by earning the voluntary designation. It covers the entire supply chain, as well as a variety of bio-based feedstocks and renewables, and is based on a framework that includes verifiable bookkeeping and predefined transparency requirements.
Encina employs a proprietary advanced recycling technology that works at the molecular level, as opposed to traditional mechanical recycling. The polymer chains are separated and converted back into their chemical components, which can then be used to create new products.

Encina’s projects include planned facilities in the United States, as well as projects in Asia and South America. Each facility is expected to process approximately 450,000 tons of post-consumer and scrap plastic material each year.
