Axalta has Opened a New Ultramodern Refinishing Factory
Axalta, a major global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, has formally opened a new, state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly plant in the Netherlands to further boost its Dutch refinish business.
Axalta can now supply more clients with its industry-leading refinish paint and non-paint products and services thanks to the ultramodern, strategically placed facility in Tiel. Cromax®, Spies Hecker, Standox, and SyroxTM, all Axalta global refinish brands in the Netherlands, moved to the new plant in May 2021.
“This is an exciting time for our refinish business in Europe and specifically, the Netherlands. Our new facility in Tiel is all-electric and exceeds local sustainability requirements. It makes us an excellent, future-ready partner to our customers as we work together toward a greener future,” said Jim Muse, Vice President of Axalta Refinish in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Muse officially opened the new 7,250m2 premises on Friday 24 September 2021. Members of the Axalta Leadership Team in Europe, the Management Team in the Netherlands, Axalta Refinish employees, as well as key customers and partners attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was followed by a reception that adhered to local pandemic guidance.
The new Dutch Axalta Refinish Academy, which is an unique bodyshop environment for training future refinishers to execute the highest-quality paint repairs, is part of the facility. It comes with cutting-edge technology and modern procedures like next-generation drying tools, such as an infrared drying rail system. Daisy Wheel 3.0, which was just released, offers fully end-to-end automated color mixing for the first time and integrates flawlessly with Axalta's Digital Color Management.
A separate mixing room – part of Axalta’s direct point of distribution – is equipped with an ultramodern dual paint mixer to make it quick and easy for customers who need large quantities of refinish coatings. The new facility also comprises expanded office space across three floors, a large, automated warehouse for first-class service delivery and local colour development.
“Our state-of-the-art academy is a well-equipped, a welcoming space that gives Axalta refinishers the opportunity to learn about the fastest and most productive paint processes available anywhere in the world,” explains Muse. “The new facility is a triumph in terms of innovation and technical capabilities. We are committed to helping our customers become more productive with high-quality coating products, as well as providing training and consultancy on key business topics such as efficient bodyshop processes for improved profitability.”
Green management,
sustainability, security, and infrastructure are important considerations for Axalta's plant in Tiel's Business Park Medel. The business park is well located near key transportation routes, making it easier for Axalta's customers to visit and place orders.
