Products from Rudolf Duraner that Will Provide Advantage to Companies in the Green Deal
Rudolf Duraner Process Chemicals Specialist Salih Gezek, made a presentation at the 14th International EKOTEKS Symposium on “Sustainability in a Digitalized Textile World Towards 2030”.
He has informed the audience on Rudolf Duraner’s innovations to provide advantages to
companies in the textile sector in the Green Deal Initiative. The 14th International EKOTEKS Symposium “Sustainability in the Digitalized Textile World Towards 2030”,
organized by the Textile and Ecological Test Research and Development Center (EKOTEKS) and İstanbul Apparel Exporter’s Association (İHKİB), was held at the Istanbul FroeignTrade Centre.
The main topic of the symposium was the European Green Deal and its short and long-term
effects on the textile industry. At the symposium, Gezek introduced the “Cost and Carbon Footprint Calculation Program” along with Rudolf Duraner’s special process applications.
It is Possible to Reduce Process Costs and the Carbon Footprint at the Same Time
Gezek stated that due to our innovative chemistry and processes, we are able to achieve similar results of the traditional processes while reducing the process cost and the carbon footprint.
Through our “Cost and Carbon Footprint Calculation Program” it is possible to calculate the process costs and carbon emissions with in 5 minutes time. Our program, at the service of our customers, will help the industry to calculate the improvements on the total process cost and on the carbon footprint.
At the same time, it will enable dyehouses to clearly identify the hot spots to be improved and to focus their efforts on the right spots. Since the program allows many data entries, no matter how different the energy source and production lines are, it is possible to make accurate calculations for each single process and for specific manufacturer.

Explaining the innovative process applications with case studies, Salih Gezek explained their innovative processes in 2 different manufacturers. First case one is a manufacturer
washing 150 tons of Disperse-printed PES fabric. Last month, the customer applied our process and decreased its carbon emission up to 55%, resulting in 57.6 tons less carbon emission and saving 4800 tons of water.
The second case is another customer: a dyehouse producing 100 tons of PES-Elastane fabric. This customer as well applied our process and decreased its carbon emission by 58%, resulting in 36.1 tons less carbon emission and saving 3.000 tons of water in one single month.
Gezek, also informed the audience about the new product line of Rudolf Duraner. He mentioned that “Our innovative bio-based products, produced from recycled raw materials, are ready to be used in dyehouses.
One is the BIO-LOGIC (Based on 100% renewable plant extracts and refined cereal grain remains) and the other one is CYCLELOGIC (a chemistry from PET plastic waste). Our target is to compose half of our product range from these renewable raw materials until 2030. We believe our BIO-LOGIC range & CYCLE-LOGIC range will support the textile industry to reach the targets in the Green Deal.
