With its new GrabCAD Print Pro software, Stratasys aids in increasing the production volumes and profitability of additive manufacturing.
A pioneer in
polymer 3D printing, Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS), announced the release of its new GrabCAD Print Pro software, which incorporates quality assurance features from Riven, a recent Stratasys acquisition. For Stratasys 3D printers, GrabCAD Print software controls the print setup procedure.
Manufacturers who need to efficiently produce end use components and increase production volumes should use the new Pro version. It is especially made to decrease waste, speed up part production, and enhance the accuracy of printed parts.
Customers using Stratasys printers based on SAFTM and FDM® technologies can expect the software to be made available starting on May 16.
All of the features of GrabCAD Print standard are included in GrabCAD Print Pro. Its advanced capabilities, however, open up more possibilities for large-scale additive manufacturing thanks to improved system controls, sped-up production, and improved workflows. Customers can obtain these advantages through special features like:
• Warp Additive Model (WAMTM) automatic warp correction to ensure part accuracy through 3D scanning and warp correction
• Ability to develop standardized manufacturing templates allowing customers to prepare builds quickly and error-free
• Improved per-part cost estimation, with a significant reduction in time estimating multi-customer trays
• Label generation, including unique coding, serialization and placement for SAF
• 3D Array to arrange parts on the Z axis, allowing stacking of parts, to reduce build times and increase throughput
• Integration with qualified best-in-class partner plug-ins

GrabCAD Print Pro includes third-party partner plug-ins for the first time; its initial plug-in partners are AlphaSTAR and Castor. To help shorten design cycles and produce higher-quality parts with fewer iterations, AlphaSTAR offers thermal process simulation, toolpath-driven analysis, and quality assessment of print parameters and toolpaths. The best chances for additive manufacturing are found by automatically analyzing thousands of parts at once with Castor's decision-support software.
