Ada Color Dispensing Systems
Ada Color Dispensing systems are systems that provide automatic and precise dosing of liquid products prepared on the basis of prescriptions in ink and paint industry. Dispensing systems are sometimes known as ‘Color Kitchen’ or ‘Color Mixing Machine’. However, ‘Tinting’ systems, which are especially used in construction paints, are different from dispensing systems with their usage and working style. In tinting systems, mostly volumetric dosing is made and the desired coloring is done by dosing small amounts on the ready base products.
As with the word meaning, Tinting is suitable for ‘light coloring’ operations. Dispensing
systems, on the other hand, can gravimetrically dose larger quantities, and in most cases produces by dosing the entire recipe into an empty container.
Main Components of the Dispensing Systems
Our dispensing systems basically consist of the following components.
Weighing system: In order to do gravimetric dosing, dispensing systems have industrial scales with high precision. Scale capacities are selected according to the capacity of finished product container.
Dosing valves: They have multi-stages and recirculation system specific to dispensing systems for a precise dosing. There are dosing valves as much as the number of components in the system. They can be of different sizes for different capacities.
Pumps: Diaphragm air pumps are mostly used to transfer the liquid components to the dosing valves which are connected to the system. Apart from dosing, they are also used for the recirculation of components to ensure homogenization.
Control unit: There is an electropneumatic control system for operating all components of the dispensing system.
Software: A PC connected to the controller, contains the dispensing software. The software consists of a database and operator interface where information such as formulas, component information, production records are stored.
Working principle: All components (color pastes, varnishes, bases, additives, etc.) included in the product recipes to be produced are connected to the dispensing system. The product recipes (formulas) are entered to the database of the software. After that, all that
needs to be done is for the operator to select the desired formula from the software, enter the desired amount and place the empty container on the scale. The system will produce the desired amount of product in a short time (average 2-4 minutes for 20 kg) by dosing all the components in the formula with a very high precision (mostly ±1 g).
Benefits of the Dispensing System
Quality: Today, in almost all sectors, although the competition is getting harder but the product quality expectations are constantly increasing. Deviations caused by operator errors in manually produced products cause inconsistent product quality. At this point,
the use of the dispensing system becomes more important. Production with maximum precision ensures that the product quality always remains at the same level. In addition, since the records of all products produced and all raw materials used in the dispensing
system are kept, an extremely detailed and easily accessible traceability is ensured.
Just in time production: Dispensing systems, especially when used at dealers and end-use points, ensure that the desired product is obtained only minutes after the product is needed. It gives the opportunity to produce as much as the desired amount on time, without being affected by the prolongation of the supply times, especially due to the disruptions in logistics due to the pandemic.
Stock cost: Users of Dispensing systems can have an unlimited number of colors by stocking only color pastes and main components. In this way, they can get rid of stocking hundreds of different products and significantly reduce their product inventory costs.
Low waste: Since only the required amount can be produced from the dispensing system, the residual products are minimized. In addition, since all components are used in a closed system and it can always be kept homogeneous, situations such as evaporation and crusting can be prevented and possible wastage is also reduced.
Usage Areas
Dispensing systems are mostly used for liquid inks. But it is suitable for all products used in coloring, such as automobile paints, coil coating, furniture paints and other industrial paints, artificial leather, textile dyes or liquid masterbatches. Apart from these, it can also
be applied to all liquid products produced on a prescription basis. In fact, there are
applications such as dosing only the additives to be added to the product, not to create the entire product.

The ever-increasing raw material and labor costs have shortened the return on
investment for automation in production. Dispensing is also used in products that
did not have an application area before, both for this reason and due to increased
quality expectations.
As Kairos Makina, for about 8 years, our main goal has been to ensure that our customers, both in Turkey and abroad, have easy access to modern technology that will enable them to make high quality productions by producing Ada Color Dispensing systems. We always
offer our customers products with innovative solutions, all of which are developed within our company. In this context, we will have the opportunity to present our newly developed Ada Color Dispensing systems, which can use up to 24 components in a small body, have a modern user interface, and provide space and cost advantages, to our visitors at paintistanbul & Turkcoat 2022.
